Introduction
According to the rules and traditions of contemporary life, most young and immature people believe that dating is the best way to express attitude, develop understanding, and establish a firm ground for further relationships. Some relationships continue and engagement results in weddings and marriage, whereas other types of relationships show that people are different and are not able to have common decisions which causes the breakup. There are different types of relationships between people: friendship exists between friends, affection is the way of expressing warm feelings and emotions towards other people, passion is a strong feeling of being under the spell of another person.
Dating
Romantic feelings and emotions express towards another person help us to win his/her favor. Engagement is the next stage of relationships when two people can be described with the help of strong commitment formally organized. When two people are dating and they do not feel like dating further, they can break up and search for another person that would meet his/her expectations. The secular world presents different people with different degrees of commitment and responsibility towards another person being in romantic relations with the latter. As suggested by Simpson (2008, pp. 4-16), teenagers find dating the best way to get accustomed to changes taking place around them.
It is necessary to introduce the contrasting point of view that describes God’s will and vision of the dating process between human beings. When people are an adult and know what they are dong, they can control their feelings and emotions, whereas teenagers that try to establish relations with young people of the same age or with older ones are in danger of making mistakes. Dating does not involve sexual relations, though most young people think that sexual contact is an integral part of dating. This concept is the main one presented by God because sexual relations should result in childbirth which is impossible without being married.
Mating
The contemporary secular world introduces mating as an integral part of our lives regardless of being married or not. Romantic emotions involve people into mating in terms of search for a mate (a lifelong partner) or a partner for sexual relationships. Marriage is separated from sexual relations in the contemporary society which causes different views concerning the rightness of such type of relationships. On the other hand, courtship which is the inmate’s recognition of human heart entails being honest and open to each other’s life style and even family issue that lead to marriage (McGill, 1992, pp. 25-31).
Biblically, the concept of courtship presupposes that two people establish mutual respect and learn each others lifestyle and preferences. As dating did not exist has replaced the term dating to sound in a mannerly way. Courtship has been known for many years as one way of a man’s seeing a beautiful and young lady hence establishing interest to share and have the fun with her. According to the will of God, he expects his people to be faithful to each other and leaves special life which results to the long term partner. Each person has his/her soul mate and whatever happens, we have someone to fit us. God expects marriage between the couples to be pleasurable and cohesive.
Conclusion
After all, God expects us to be obedient, especially when we are in the process of detecting our inmates. When you are obedient, God takes immediate control of your life since he can detect your willingness on commitment, surrendering your soul, body and your spirit which leads you to correct way. This is an opportunity for you as a God’s fearing man to be given priorities by God since you have accepted him. God assures those who believe in him and has not taken singleness for granted, either as a punishment.
