The modern world is in a constant change. To react to the possible alternations, people should orient effectively within the social and natural environments. This orientation depends on the particular features of the people’s sensory perceptions.
Basing on the conducted research, it is important to concentrate on the fact that today people can suffer from paying less attention to the development of their senses. The purpose of the paper is to draw the audience’s attention to the discussion of the problem of the senses’ development from the psychological and philosophical perspectives.
The audience can include persons interested in the psychological and philosophical aspects of the issue.
Although the human organism uses the compensation mechanism when one of the senses is undeveloped, people should develop all their senses because of the necessity to receive the accurate information about the world basing on the fact that the character of the information has changed significantly under the impact of modern technologies.
People receive the necessary information about the world and its qualities with the help of their developed sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch abilities, and the fact that all these senses are used by the human accentuates the significance of their development.
Human beings cannot receive the accurate information about the world if the definite mechanism of sensory perception does not function.
The researchers state that it is possible to live without an ability to use one of the senses, but such a life cannot be discussed as full, and the organism intends to compensate the inability with references to the other senses (King, 2007).
Today, it is important to react quickly to any data received, and the inability to interpret the data because of the undeveloped senses makes people frustrated.
The people’s task is to develop their sensory perceptions because the quality and character of the information perceived has changed, and there are many external factors which prevent people from receiving and interpreting the data accurately.
The progress of technologies prevents people from the development of their senses. People should focus on the development of their sensory perceptions because not all the senses and their provided interpretations reflect the real picture (Kirby & Goodpaster, 2006, p. 63).
Nowadays, the brain should ignore many minor and secondary stimuli in order to interpret the real data.
The human brain is constantly receiving and interpreting a lot of information from all the senses that is why sensory perceptions can be discussed as the main connectors of the human brain with the people’s surroundings. Thus, the brain can ignore many data or interpret the facts incorrectly because of many external factors (Kirby & Goodpaster, 2006, p. 44).
The researchers focus on the intensity and character of the information as the basic aspects to conclude about the prior and secondary facts perceived.
The division of the information perceived according to their importance can depend not only on the people’s physical characteristics but also on their psychological features and philosophical visions (Streit & Raible, 2011).
A person should be ready to react to the definite stimulus in order to perceive the information correctly. The focus on the sensory perceptions and their development is important to achieve the definite balance and adapt to the environments effectively.
The role of senses in the people’s life is extremely significant. That is why, the development of the sensory perceptions should become the part of the people’s everyday activity. The researchers state it is rather easy to develop human senses, and the main aspects is the concentration (Zacks et al., 2007).
The problem is in the fact that many people are inclined to focus on the visual perception, developing their sight or, in contrast, relying on the false pictures because of their inability to see clearly.
From this point, the problem is not only in the physiological ability to see, but in the psychological interpretation of the pictures referring to the preventive factors, and in changing the philosophical picture of the world with references to alternations in cognitive processes.
Receiving a lot of visual information every day, the senses become orienting to the quick work with the visual data without focusing on the work of the other senses.
There is the position that the natural development of senses is enough to help humans orient in the world. However, the environments are changing quickly, and the additional focus on the sensory perceptions is necessary for people.
It is important to draw the audience’s attention to the fact that the modern realities make people concentrate on the development of all senses and accurate interpretation of the received information in order to react to the environments and adapt to them.
Sensory perceptions are usually based on the people’s experiences (Streit & Raible, 2011). That is why it is effective to stimulate the development of senses in order to receive the new information which is not changed with references to the people’s prejudicial interpretation.
Modern people have to adapt to different technological environments and use their senses in relation to the requirements of these surroundings.
That is why, the concentration on the equal development of people’s senses is necessary to improve the natural abilities in order to operate them effectively and guarantee the clear and accurate people’s perception of the world. The development of senses is the way to the improvement of the people’s knowledge.
