The profession of a social worker is difficult but necessary for people who need help around the world. I chose this activity for my article, and I would like to touch upon the theory of conflicts, as it is directly related to the daily practice of employees. I find social work fascinating because it requires me to be stress-tolerant and motivated to help those in need, and my work data is based on reading a journal of articles written by experts in the field.
I choose the social work profession because of its complexity and the need in the modern world. This occupation requires the employee to have professional values and skills that need to be regularly developed (Kam, 2020). One of these skills is stress tolerance, so conflict theory is often applied in the context of this work. A professional social worker should be aware of this theory, as conflicts are the most critical problems that can be encountered when working with people.
Data on the profession of a social worker can be taken from the worker’s personal experience and various articles and books devoted to social work. For example, the application of conflict theory to work is based on loyalty conflicts, as employees are sometimes forced to choose between patient and peer expectations (Ylvisaker & Rugkåsa, 2022). That is, a real professional regularly studies articles related to his profession in order to improve his knowledge of both social work and conflict.
In conclusion, it is essential to say that I find the social worker profession interesting and vital worldwide. This work requires a person to constantly improve professional skills, to study the theory of conflicts and increase stress tolerance. Data on the profession can be found in various sources, such as articles by experts and professors in the field. Being a social worker is thus a challenging task, but it makes life easier every day, and this should be the primary motivation for work.
