Financial data will help the organization in guiding its activities at all times. It will play a very crucial role in carrying out a SWOT analysis. For instance, the opportunities that are identified in the SWOT analysis will only be relevant if there is the necessary back up to help the organisation capitalise on them. Sony will only be able to carry out the mergers and acquisitions it if has the financial ability. The prospective tablets can only be produced if the company has the financial ability; otherwise, the SWOT analysis will not be valid if the company is not able to support the findings with finances. Therefore, in carrying out the SWOT analysis, it is important to first take into consideration the financial data available in the company.
