Introduction
Stevie Wonder is known as the founder of modern RnB and soul and one of the key figures influencing the development of the 20th centurys music styles. In addition, he is a 25-time Grammy award winner and suffers from blindness. The atmosphere during his latest concert was, as always, magnificent and vibrant. The features that fascinated me most of all will be discussed in the essay.
Main body
The first peculiarity of his concert is the absence of some extraordinary light show, decoration, dancers and costumes. Most of modern artists use these elements to impress the audience. Undoubtedly, such performances are spectacular; nevertheless, I believe that the musicians do it since their music without the show will not attract the audience. During Wonders performance, the crowd became captivated by his energy and songs. I suppose that the elements of the show would even have spoiled the concert since they would distract attention from the music itself.
The second thing that impressed me was his frequent communication with the audience and the way he behaved himself. He was joking, asking to sign with him, and moving so simply as if he is talking to his friends. Apart from that, sometimes he left the piano and stood in the middle of the stage singing and moving the body. At these moments, it was impossible to guess that he is a blind man.
The third feature deals not with the singer and his band but with the audience itself. I was deeply impressed by the absence of people who tried to record the whole concert. In the age of social media, people often make videos and photos that prove their attendance at a show. However, even though the audience was pretty much young and middle-aged people, they were only singing and dancing. I, as well, tried to imbibe the energy of the concert instead of making videos.
Conclusion
To sum up, the concert of Wonder was immensely soulful and impressive. After the show, all the negative and depressive thoughts evaporated. I suppose that the simplicity of the performances arrangements and Wonders personality were the key factors that adorned the concert. After watching for 1.5 hours how a blind man is enjoying the moment, I have changed the attitude to some of my problems since they seemed to become negligible.
