Modern world is full of various negative feelings and emotions, and as a result many people think about suicide. Many cases of suicide or pre-suicide mood are detected among youth. It is very important to detect and to try to cope with the signs of suicide moot at the appropriate time. There are a lot of different tools and techniques which allow to check human condition and to identify the signs of suicide mood.

Hermes-Deakin Suicide Risk Assessment (2007) is the tool which helps consider the risk factors for suicide. Dwelling upon the issues mentioned there as the risk factors, aggression, depression, anxiety, regret, tension, insomnia, poor memory, and violent, requiring restraint are to be mentioned. Moreover, such aspects as “loss of loves ones, substance abuse, relationship problems, physical/mental abuse, financial problems, hopelessness” (Hermes-Deakin Suicide Risk Assessment, 2007) are considered as well.

There are several factors which affect human condition and may be considered as the main signs of suicide risk. McCann (2010) refers to Big Five model which includes neuroticism that covers “anxiety, vulnerability, impulsiveness, angry hostility, depression, and self-consciousness”, conscientiousness characterized by “deliberation, dutifulness, order, self-discipline, competence, and achievement striving”, openness as the measurement of “depth of emotions, tolerance for diversity, imagination, aesthetic interest, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to experiment”, agreeableness that covers “trust, straight-forwardness, altruism, modesty, compliance, and tendermindedness”, and extraversion which seeks for “positive emotions, gregariousness, warmth, activity, assertiveness, and excitement seeking” (p. 368).

Measuring each of these factors, it is possible to draw a conclusion about the suicide risks. However, many scientists in this field state that there is no strict plan according to which suicide signs may be perfectly detected, it is just possible to notice some conditions which require clarification.

Fowler (2012) considers several specific ways of how suicide mood should be detected. “Long-term risk factors, short-term warning signs, and an appreciation for the complexity and variability of suicide risk over time” (Fowler, 2012, p. 82) are the main measured which are to be applied for searching for suicide intended person.

Depression is considered as one of the main factors for suicide conduction. Long-term depression is a direct sign. Medical staff should identify the signs of the long-term depression of a person and conduct some specific actions in order to suppress this condition.

Moreover, anxiety which supports people for a long period of time may also be considered as a reason for suicide. McCann (2010) states that in most cases suicide thought awoke long-term pressures (depression, anxiety, and different problems which do not find solutions for a lengthy period of time. However, there are cases when a short-term factor may be considered as the factor for suicide risk. Such short-term conditions are characterized as the stress or shock raised by any unpleasant event.

Therefore, it should be concluded that depression and anxiety, especially which last for a lengthy period of time, should be considered as the main factors for suicide. However, there are other signs which are to be considered. Hermes-Deakin Suicide Risk Assessment (2007) is one many tools which may help identify the suicide risk.

One should remember that there are many cases of false positive results, however, among these false-positive issues the real case of suicide intention may be found. Those who decide to refer to this Hermes-Deakin Suicide Risk Assessment (2007) should pay much attention to the extended answers of people.
