With regard to the tactics that the United States chose for controlling the Philippines, the counterinsurgency is considered one of the most sophisticated forms of conflict that military service can face. The student has managed to define various techniques that France and Americans managed to implement benevolent assimilation but by different means. I am inclined to think that the French Army was more aggressive towards Algerians than the U.S. army was. In particular, the French authorities colonized Algerian territories to take control of the civilians. However, I agree with the idea that both parts were involved in a violent conflict with the population.
Apart from the military tactics, nothing has been mentioned about insurrections occurred both in the Philippines and in Algeria, which can contribute to the analysis of historical events held during the interventions of the armed forces. Different patterns of opposition and suppression practiced by both countries refer to the different political system established in the United States and in France.
Therefore, much consideration requires the analysis of the political situation, leading to political and economic changes in the colonized territories. Finally, the deliberation on the unjust policy of the super-states against the territories has been sufficiently presented to understand what actions were not justified in social and moral terms.
