Writing occupies a special place in the life of any person, as it performs one of the essential functions, the transmission of information. With this direct action, individuals can gain new knowledge, communicate with each other and transfer them from each other. The main task of this work is to conduct an observational study, which is aimed at determining the way of writing in a particular group of people. Hence, a group of teenagers who spend time in a public park was chosen for it.
The ability to write is a very important skill since it primarily determines how people will communicate with others. Therefore, the correct composition of messages on paper and the choice of appropriate words are necessary not only on paper. Regarding the psychological aspect, people who are able to formulate and express their thoughts are characterized by more excellent mental stability. Moreover, because of the ability to convey their thoughts clearly and clearly when writing, people can more effectively negotiate and make decisions about solving a particular problem.
Thus, writing is everywhere and constantly surrounds a person. Furthermore, during the observation, it was noted that the primary way that young people used was texting information to each other that they wanted to convey. This is one of the everyday types of writing that people all over the planet use every day. In addition, there are also scientific essays, newspaper articles, and data.
Texting occupies a central place in the life of modern people, as it has many advantages over other methods of communication. First of all, correspondence is the fastest way to transfer information from one person to another. The writing process depends on the length of the message being transmitted but often takes no more than a few minutes. Moreover, texting helps to always stay in touch and not interrupt the communication process. Consequently, the interlocutors can write to each other throughout the day while responding to messages when they have the opportunity. Thus, another advantage of this writing method is the independence of communication from the territorial factor.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that texting as a way of writing has several disadvantages. The central negative aspect of this way of writing text is the fact that it dramatically spoils people’s skills. Research underlines that “people look at texting shortcuts or the abbreviation- and jargon-filled communicative environments of social media sites, and lament that digital writing is causing young people to butcher grammar” (Warnock 301). Hence, due to the speed that is provided when conducting correspondence, many people significantly reduce information. This is reflected in getting rid of some of the components of the proposals, that is, in their maximum simplification. This aspect also concerns the grammatical component. Individuals thus neglect the rules of writing words, which subsequently affects a significant deterioration in their academic writing skills and a general decrease in the effectiveness of communication.
Therefore, there are many different opinions regarding texting. Henceforth, the central thesis of the future work may be the study of the contribution that this type of writing has to the general way people write. This aspect concerns not only the writing of texts but also affects the mental process of thinking. Hence, there is an opinion that texting significantly impairs the ability of individuals to form thoughts and compose them into one text (Al-Garaady and Mohammad Mahyoob 1). The future work will explore this aspect by studying additional literature.
It is worth paying attention to the relationship between texting and the psychological state of people. Thus, the main characteristic of this method of writing text and transmitting information is the development of anxiety and transformations associated with socialization. People who prefer texting experience more troubles not only in real communication but also when writing more extended and more complex works. Due to the gradual simplification and deterioration of the quality of writing skills, young people may worry about creating more complex texts if necessary.
At the beginning of the work, it was noted that in addition to texting, works, essays, and other sources of information related to data acquisition play a unique role for young adults. The skill of writing scientific papers for an educational institution or work is significantly different from simplified texting. Future work may suggest that due to the frequent presence of this type of writing text among students, their communication experiences fewer transformations under the influence of texting than those for whom it is the basis of every day and working communication.
The conclusion will covers several aspects of the conducted scientific work at once. First of all, it should be emphasized that writing is a valuable process that, in addition to transmitting information, has a solid positive contribution to the development of an individual. Further, observation of a group of young people showed that the most popular way of writing in this community is texting. Despite its prevalence, it has several disadvantages, including deterioration of writing skills and thinking processes.
