Introduction

Every child has a right to access education which will help him/her in the future as the world has become very much inclined towards education and technology. On the contrary, this is not the same to every student, since some come from poor families which cannot afford basic needs of live hence are forced to drop out of school. Most of those who find themselves out of school are just victims of circumstances who could like to be in school, but must also find ways to satisfy for other economical needs. These students will require some help in acquiring the basic needs of life for them to attend school always.

Inequality as a social vice

When some people have access to the resources of the community while others remain behind, then unequal development is bound take place. Needy students will in most cases drop out of school and start doing odd jobs to meet their other economic needs. These will make them lag behind when development takes place in the society hence the whole community stands the risk of widening income gap, which is to some extent immoral (Berry 2006). The world would be a very unattractive place to stay if one would have every thing that he/she needs while the neighbor is suffering (Burton 2009). Some measures can be taken to mitigate the problems that these people face, therefore ensuring they are also as comfortable as possible.

Assistance Programs

Obtaining quality health care is some times a big problem for the needy students whose parents might be unable to afford the bill of medical services. If these students are assisted to obtain the basic medical care, then the number school hours wasted when they fall ill would be reduced. On top of that, a way of assisting in tuition fee is important as this will reduce the burden to the parents, who might choose to pull their children out of school instead (Brewer 2010). In conjunction with that, meals play an important role to students if they have to concentrate and perform well. Therefore, introducing meal programs for them will help alleviate some of the difficulties they face hence increase their performance. Furthermore, these students are in need of clothing and whoever provides them with clothes will have toughed the very core of their problems. In this line, introduction of clothing programs will help them at least get off their school uniforms and clean them. In order to reduce future dependency, it would be paramount to assist graduates from this group of people secure employment opportunities so that they can take care of their siblings and families (Sigel 2011). On this note, introduction of employment assistance programs will come in handy.

Challenges

The main challenge in achieving this vision is the lack of finances to support the said programs as they may mostly rely on well wishers to donate, who sometimes are hard to come by. The main idea will be to start with those who are needier, which might be difficult to determine as people may pretend in order to access the financial or material support (Valencia 2010).

Partners

Among the institutions that will be of help are: Ohio department of job and family services (ODJFS), the federal supplemental education opportunity grants, community clinics and all other charities that are involved in the improvement of living standards of the poor.

Conclusion

It is our duty as the members of the society to ensure that each person attains the minimal bearable standards of living, and assisting needy students is one way of achieving this. So as to reduce the dependency ratio, unemployment and by extension crime rates, then access to education by all is essential. In helping alleviate the suffering of our neighbors we fulfill God’s promise, thus making the world a better place to live.
