Podcasts are audio programs, shows, or blogs that one can download or listen to online. The main difference between a podcast and a radio is that one can choose a genre and topic and listen whenever he wants. Podcasts come in a variety of genres and topics. In this post, I would like to compare the Michael Gadwell: Good walk Spoiled podcast I listened to in class and my favorite podcast, Dark House: COVID, Ivermectin, and the Crime of the Century. The main difference between these two podcasts is their themes. The one we listened to in class has an economic and political bias. The hosts tell their listeners about rich people and their addiction to golf. My favorite podcast touches on all topics, little by little, including politics, philosophy, and religion. It focuses on various criminal incidents that take place in the United States. In “Dark House: COVID, Ivermectin, and the Crime of the Century,” the hosts discussed the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the increase in violence. Both podcasts have essentially the same length. However, the research and writing are different.
In the podcast listened to in class, the primary research dealt with a specific topic about the financial opportunities and hobbies of the wealthy segment of the population. My favorite podcast had several topics, and they were all related to each other. As far as writing goes, “Michael Gadwell: Good Walk Spoiled” is written in a friendlier tone. Presumably, this was done to make it easier for listeners to understand a complex topic. The “Dark House: COVID, Ivermectin, and the Crime of the Century” podcast also has much different factual information, but it is presented as for people who know the subject. To summarize, both podcasts represent the genre and are of great interest to listeners. Having a wide variety of podcasts on various topics provides listeners with a good choice for all tastes. Thus, podcasts are an excellent way to broaden one’s horizons, enrich vocabulary, and spend quality time.
