The purpose of this self-assessment at this time is to provide a chance for you to pause at just over the halfway point of the course and think about how you are doing.

You should accompany your mark with some justification. A few comments on how you think you are doing are all that is necessary. In addition, you should use the participation criteria established by your group as a general guideline.

Justification for GradeBased on the above-mentioned participation criteria, my mark is 7/10 since I missed one group discussion and was late with comments posting. As a result, my participation in the group activity was not complete, as well as my contribution to the group effectiveness. At that, I was trying to provide insightful responses supported by the information learnt from the class readings. In addition, I delivered presentation in a timely fashion. Therefore, I consider my performance at this stage sufficient despite the fact that I have omissions. On the whole, the mark 7/10 corresponds with my achievements and demonstrates my faults that I have to address to improve my effectiveness.

Checking up on the course

This is also a good time to let me know how it’s going with the course. If you are having any difficulties with the format or the pace, please include your comments here.

Conversely, if things are going well, let me know. This is a good opportunity to make known your impressions of the course. If you have any suggestions for improvement, please send them along and I will try to address them.

I would like to express my gratitude for this excellent course and for the teacher’s work. I am very pleased due to the fact that the teacher pays so much attention to me by frequent e-mails with useful recommendations and reminders. As for my suggestions for improvement, if it is possible, I would like to have more time for posting responses for discussion sessions. I know it is rather delicate issue but since this is an on-line course, it is probable that I am not the only student with the problem of time shortage and all of us may benefit from the term prolongations.
