APAC regions have emerged as an engine for clean energy by having centers that manufacture renewable energy technologies. Countries in the Asia-Pacific, such as Japan, face energy-related issues, leading them to alter their energy system. To improve energy efficiency, the country has come up with policies advocating energy sobriety, such as implementing feed-in tariffs to promote renewable energy sources; the nation’s new energy plan will establish a carbon dioxide emission quota for power plants. The country plans to attract investment in clean technologies by setting off tax incentives to manufacturers.
These policies have sent messages to the global markets that they are promoting alternative energy, which is admirable and other countries have started adopting similar policies. Engie should start offering products in Japan to innovate its services while maintaining a competitive consequently leading it to achieve its goals of providing efficient products and enhancing its profits.
For Engie to have a leading vision of energy sobriety in APAC regions and still make profits compared to their competitors, the company should make strategic alliances with other companies in Japan that can aid in sales of green technologies. The company should first ensure that the products are available at all times (Iliopoulos et al., 2020). Engie can work with existing competitors to make this happen through innovative strategies such as add-ons, service packages, and product upgrades Engie can also try to create Awareness in the Japanese population about energy sobriety. Through this, Engie can engage Japanese clients and make a place in the market.
These strategies will guarantee that customers will continue using their services. For instance, Engie should consider setting up a local office to easily access to the market, providing a platform for Engie to better serve the market. The local office will be responsible for researching customer perception towards service offerings by competitors, especially on energy efficiency and clean energy production, among others. It will allow them to offer competitive prices depending on what customers want. Hence, Engie will have developed its home market before any of its competitors do so.
Engie should use its competitive edge over its competitors by supplying green products before they do, thus increasing sales rapidly. Through this, the company can have a leading vision of energy sobriety in APAC regions and still make profits compared to their competitor. The company will work closely with the government, ensuring that government forces the mass adoption of green energy among consumers. The company should also work closely with all stakeholders in Japan to get support and ensure that they are happy and satisfied with these measures. According to Kim (2018), the government, regulatory bodies, the private sector, and others play a crucial role in this process. The company must demonstrate careful consideration to each stakeholder and ensure that they are satisfied, thus making them wish to support their initiatives.
In addition o the point above, Engie should be very careful in dealing with and communicating with the stakeholders because they will influence them. In addition, many industries are being developed in Japan, requiring more power than what is produced (Kim, 2018). Engie can work on developing renewable alternatives for powering these industries by generating clean power from sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal. Thus, this will ensure that Japan has clean energy for future generations and that Engie has a leading vision of energy sobriety in APAC Regions and still make profits compared to its competitors.
Engie should start adopting green technology like other companies operating in Japan. For instance, the company can install solar panels on its premises. Engie should also offer small solar panels for individuals to sell electricity back to the power grid and get incentives from the government. Providing energy-efficient products at a fair price while still being profitable to the Company and its shareholders will also ensure that every customer gets value for money and contributes positively to the environment (Zainudin et al., 2022). This way, Engie can attract customers while maintaining its competitive edge in the market.
Furthermore, Engie must ensure that its products are not just environmentally friendly but are also durable, reliable, and easy to use. For example, the solar panels installed in homes should be as efficient as possible to ensure that energy is not wasted, such as when it rains. Furthermore, Engie should consider making advanced laboratories where they can research clean energy products, which will enable the company to develop a product that is value for money, reliable, and easy to use for all consumers. Thus, this will enable the company to attract customers by offering quality services that guarantee high customer satisfaction.
Engie should start by offering energy-saving appliances to homes and industries. It is because the demand for energy-saving solutions in Japan is rising; thus, there are high prospects for success. It can be done by sending representatives to Japan to survey the market and find out their demand and supply of energy. The company should also consider offering energy-saving services to the industry through energy-saving products and equipment, improving their efficiency and thus increasing profits (Zainudin et al., 2022). for instance, the company will have to put strict measures in place to ensure that the energy being produced is clean and efficient.
Moreover, management in Engie should consider implementing new policies that promote renewable energies like solar power, thereby making Engie a Japanese company to compete in global markets. It will enable the company to prepare for future energy challenges with climate change by making sustainable products that can be used over a long time (Zainudin et al., 2022). Engie should also partner with the local spin-off companies that specialize in producing renewable energy products and invest in them, as well as promote their services be among the people of Japan to ensure they are ahead of their competitors. Thus, Engie should offer complete packages of services designed to ensure customer satisfaction while helping the environment at the same time.
In conclusion, the company should consider setting up a multi-level marketing system to promote local distributors’ sales of green products. This way, the product will be sold to consumers at more affordable prices than what is currently sold because it will be locally produced and sourced from high-quality materials, ensuring that customers get value for money. Furthermore, the company should invest in small power plants that provide clean, efficient, and affordable electricity. Thus, to ensure that the company has a leading vision of energy sobriety in APAC regions, it can work closely with the government, ensuring that it forces the mass adoption of green energy amongst consumers.
