The first impression is one of the main aspects which form the further attitude of society to the person. The combination of signs of appearance and behavior allows society to identify the likelihood of future cooperation with the person in advance. The first impression forms expectations in speech, actions, work, and other aspects that the person will potentially do. It is essential to understand that this impression is formed, among other things, because the person chooses how to present himself in society. First feelings and relationships can be different: it depends on how the two persons behave, interact, and have an assumption about each other before they meet. There are difficulties with creating a favorable image for a first impression – it is not always possible to know what we look like from the outside. Negative or positive first experience of meeting and communicating lays the groundwork for future interactions, forming further points of contact and expectations from meetings. It is not always the experience that leads to continued communication because negative or unpleasant feelings at first sight of a person cause rejection. Replacing such experiences with pleasant experiences can be a difficult task. The human brain automatically analyzes and quickly remembers potentially harmful stimuli that an encounter with which leads to a negative experience. This property instantly leads people to form opinions about other people, which can lead to initial misunderstandings and unstable relationships. First-perception and impression mechanisms are complex cognitive tools preserved as part of evolutionary strategies: recognition and recognition of positive and negative stimuli. Creating a favorable first impression is important because it largely depends on the individual, is a difficult-to-change relationship catalyst, and is formed almost instantaneously.

Thus, according to the study’s results, valuable evidence was found that first impressions are the dominant predictor of the development of human relationships. First, it was found that first impressions persist for several months, influencing personal judgments about a person regardless of their subsequent behavior. In addition, the attempt to change the impression may fail because there are no longer disposable conditions for recognition, and the interaction participants are not seeking contact points in the conversation. Forming an opinion about a person repeatedly is much more difficult because counting additional facts about them is not always as easy as first clues and associations. Second, it has been determined how quickly people remember information about us and why they choose one tactic or another in response. It turns out that it takes only a few seconds to form a first impression and respond to that information. From this, it has been concluded that the environment is a factor that helps society form opinions about us. This is why people need to work on presenting themselves to society so that others do not make critical assumptions about behavior or character traits. Thirdly, the nature of the development of first impressions in other people has been established: the first accurate conclusions appear as early as 0.1 seconds later. A person’s external parameters become objects of attention rather quickly, so the first impression (and an accurate one) is formed almost instantly. A positive experience at the beginning of any relationship is more likely to lead to long-term interactions because the memory of joyful emotions is preserved. Consequently, it is one’s responsibility to create a favorable first impression, which is formed almost instantly and depends on ourselves and the environment because changing it will be complicated.
