The introduction of this paper introduces the readers to the situation of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and how it has caused global health damage in general. Furthermore, it introduces the reader to the challenge imposed on the nursing curriculum, such as nursing education causing shifts from the norm. The challenge in higher education institutions resulted in changes in practices, such as the development of e-learning.
The authors use qualitative research methodology through interviews at an anonymous university. The study results are presented in three themes, with the first relating to using innovation to overcome challenges. Alternative learning methods, such as Zoom meetings, helped continue APN learning. The second theme was on acceptance of e-learning, where the interviews identified initial setbacks and apprehension. Appreciation and patience were essential to embrace new methods. The third theme was on APNs’ versatility, which enabled them to adapt to situations that helped meet demands in healthcare.
The paper’s discussion shows that the emergence of COVID-19 brought about changes and innovations. The changes have resulted in the evolution of APNs’ education practices. The article concludes that face-to-face learning has resumed with the pandemic’s severity minimizing; however, some of the innovations are still worth keeping (Woo et al., 2022). To execute the research, the authors use references from other sources to increase the extent of information and acknowledge work done by others.
Hypothesis, Results, and Limitations
The research questions entailed how the coronavirus pandemic and the DORSCON orange status had affected the MN program learning. The other question was how the pandemic affected Singapore’s APN practice. The methodology is a descriptive qualitative study to conduct the analysis. The researchers recruited university students to participate in semi-structured conference interviews to collect the needed data. The interview had 14 respondents, and data saturation was done from the information gathered. The thematic analysis is done, and the authors use the COREQ guidelines (Consolidated criteria for Reporting Qualitative research) (Woo et al., 2022). The key results of the study purported the research questions. The respondents show how the learning programs were affected by the pandemic. Lockdowns, social distancing, and closure of learning institutions resulted in the development of e-learning. APN practices in Singapore were affected, resulting in the need for change, assuming new roles, and adapting to new approaches.
One of the study’s limitations entailed the purposiveness of the research respondents. The limitation was the qualitative inquiry, with limited generalization as the participants came from one university. The second limitation was that the interviewees were university students who had yet to enter the APN workforce; hence, their perspectives may not be of more insight than the information provided by practicing APNs. A further area of study may be directed toward investigating other technologies that can be used to promote nursing education.
Article Review
This research work is based on the analysis and study of knowledge in the field of nursing education in the context of coronavirus. Non-numerical data are used to achieve research goals and identify real-life concepts. The main topic to which attention is paid to work is the coronavirus and its impact on the masters’ attendance rate. The study contains probing questions about how the coronavirus pandemic has affected masters in nursing programs and how it has generally affected preparatory education for people with disabilities in Singapore (Woo et al., 2022). The paramount quality for conducting the study was descriptive by COREQ standards. In order to correctly analyze their opinion about the impact of the pandemic on the curriculum, the target group selected master students in nursing.
The researchers used unique samples to collect 14 participants in the analysis. Respondents attended interviews on personal computers with microphones and webcams and agreed to have the interview recorded (Woo et al., 2022). The survey method was to conduct an individual semi-structured interview via videoconferencing. The researchers conducted interviews and used flexible discussion guides. Interviewees were asked questions such as their opinion on the impact of the pandemic on their master’s program and APN practice. The results of the study were presented in themes and sub-themes. The first topic was related to the use of innovation to solve the problems in education associated with the pandemic. The theme of the second phase was the adoption of distance learning, and the third was the universality of the APN in response to the ongoing pandemic.

Educational institutions are involved in continuing education even during trials. The research reflects the need for education, which is one of the concepts that improve the image of nurses.
The article is relevant to the topic of the image of a nurse, as it talks about the need to train nurses even under such restrictions as a pandemic. Nursing education contributes to their knowledge of health issues and improves patient outcomes. E-learning using electronic media and the Internet will help advance education as nurses can learn more from the comfort of their homes, which will improve their skills. As a result, nurses achieve higher training, interdisciplinary collaboration, critical thinking, and clinical judgment. In addition, they will also have to develop independently, which significantly increases their ability to introspect. The salient points of the article emphasize the usefulness of nursing education. Innovations have taken place to ensure continued learning during institution closures. Nurses had to adapt to new strategies and learn new ways, contributing to the development of nursing education.
The image of a nurse is necessary to increase the patient’s confidence in the abilities of medical personnel and their professional qualities. Professionally important qualities are one of the components of a professionally conditioned personality structure. Nurses need to work hard to build their image, and education is part of the critical concepts needed to boost the image in this field. Educational programs promote professionalism in the healthcare sector, a key aspect for nurses. Barot talks about nursing education and how the pandemic has affected nursing students’ masters. Educational institutions are involved in continuing education even during trials. The research reflects the need for education, which is one of the concepts that improve the image of nurses.
This article complements my nursing knowledge and is critical to my next assignment. This is relevant to nursing education as it contributes to the need for it even during times of restrictions such as the pandemic. This article expands my knowledge of nursing and my assignment topic as it contains information about healthcare and education. By providing information on ways to achieve better outcomes for patients, the study proves its relevance to healthcare. I will include the article’s main points in my image of a nurse to emphasize the usefulness of education. My thoughts during and after reading the article were how nurses could adapt to new strategies and learn new ways to advance nursing education.
