Millions of private university students can connect on LinkedIn, which also boosts your professional online presence and is frequently the first result on search sites, providing potential employers access to good information about prospective employees. This is a fantastic tool for promoting students’ company or brand. The core material that is heavily indexed by Google and LinkedIn search, LinkedIn Pulse, will include students’ content if it is really outstanding and attracts many likes, shares, and comments. One may anticipate getting a lot of attention if your content is trending on LinkedIn Pulse.

Research questions:

  1. What elements of LinkedIn help to create career identity among private university students?
  2. How are career chances impacted by private university students’ LinkedIn profile?
  3. What role does LinkedIn Pulse play in private university students’ career development?

Hypotheses:

  1. Private university students’ well-known LinkedIn profiles significantly boost their career opportunities.
  2. LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn profile leads and connections, and LinkedIn Pulse are the elements most effective in creating private university students’ career identities.

Dependant variables are as follows: career identity and career opportunities.

Independent variables: LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn profile leads and connections, and LinkedIn Pulse.

A conceptual definition gives a variable its theoretical meaning and is frequently obtained from the description of a related term by a researcher. The conceptual definition is an abstract, verbally expressed idea that aids comprehension but cannot be fully quantified (Siedlecki, 2020). Q qualitative, or subjective language is frequently used to convey conceptual variables. On the other hand, a collection of processes that indicate the presence or absence of a variable form the basis of an operational definition (Siedlecki, 2020). To allow for the investigation of variables at various times while utilizing the same operational definitions, operational definitions must be unaffected by time and environment.

Thus, an operational definition explains how to quantify the notion, but a conceptual definition explains what it means. At the same time, while operational definitions might be quite exact to the point that they may be measured and communicated without leading to erroneous interpretation, conceptual variables are frequently defined in qualitative or subjective terms.

Conceptual definitions: LinkedIn profile, career identity

Operational definition: LinkedIn profile leads and connections, career opportunities (these concepts can be measures and quantified).
