1. What is Social Media Marketing (SMM)?
SMM is a type of marketing that uses sites like social networks as a tool for marketing. SMM is designed to create attractive content for the users to share on their social networks in order to help the company increase the popularity of its brand, attract the attention of potential customers and keep the interest of the current customers. Types of Social Media: social networks, sites that allow uploading and sharing videos, micro-blogs, blogs and forums.
2. What are the most important factors that impact SMM?
An important factor is hiring a person who will do marketing as their job. Another big factor is proper timing, knowing the best time to share your content, learning at what time the majority of your customers use certain websites. The way you present your product is crucial. Making it visually attractive and accessible is going to help a lot.
3. What is customer equity, how does SMM influence it?
Customer equity is the value of potential income brought to the company by the customers during their lifetime. SMM affects the popularity of the product, the intention to purchase it among the clients, and increases the number of potential clients; as a result, it influences customer equity.
4. How does SMM affect a brand’s and firm’s performance?
SMM is a great way to communicate with the customers, learn their needs and follow their ideas and demands. SMM helps the brand be more flexible and stay wanted.
5. What do you think about brand posts on the brand fan page? What are the factors that increase the popularity of brand posts?
Brand posts on the brand fan page are necessary – they create communication between the firm and the customers, they maintain interest in the brand. The factors that increase the popularity of the brand posts are attractive and bright images, frequency of the updates, engaging your viewers and clients in voting and questionnaires, answering important questions.
6. Can you talk about the evolution of SMM, how will it change in the future?
The future of SMM is directly connected to the technologies, using the most modern technologies and software will make your SMM effective. The demand for SMM professionals and specialists with high qualifications is going to grow.
The Reflection
This interview has added to what I have already learned about my research question and helped me understand the role of SMM better. I enjoyed studying the factors that make SMM more effective, the important aspects of SMM, how it influences the viewers and clients. The interview has most definitely deepened my perception of Social Media, it increased my awareness of the way Social Media participates in the process of marketing and how much it helps, how much attention it attracts, how many people it involves. Every one of us uses the internet every day for many hours, we go through a lot of information and it is important for a businessman to make their own posts and advertisements the most attractive in order to interact with as many potential customers as possible.
This interview has reinforced my opinion about my research question, reading about social media marketing has made many aspects of it clear to me, and it truly is a very essential and popular part of any successful modern business. Social media marketing is a helpful tool for the development of your product and communication with your customers. The difference the use of SMM makes for a business is very big, and I think, no businessman should ever neglect it.
