Movie summary

The movie door to door is about a certain fellow called Porter who was born with cerebral palsy (CP) and follows his dad’s footsteps in becoming a winning salesman. In the movie, Porter jokes about his condition saying that the doctor during conception pressed his head and his condition resulted (Schachter). The movie evolves Porters demanding to be channeled the hardest route, this also falls in the wake as internet and catalogs were diminishing the door-to-door sales. During his sales round trips he meets with numerous clients, the movie depicts how he relates with them and understands their needs and after chatting with them about his condition they even forget about their own problems. This part is played with humor and not like another sleek salesman who is only interested in sales, Porters sales ideas ignite changes in the hearts of his client as they go through the routine of his job.

Review body

Porter is an ordinary salesman but with a different approach to his targeted clients. Porter, who was born with cerebral palsy, is a well-humored person cheerful even to his condition and uses it as a reassurance for those who have lost faith. The movie is based on the true story of Bill Porter who has CP go into an interview and because of his condition, he is not offered the chance as a salesman. However, this does not make him lose morale but only injects more enthusiasm, he sources vacancies in many other places, and when he finally lands the job he gives his best not only in sales but changing the lives of his customers by engaging them in solutions solving for their problems. The author William H. Macy who is also the main star in the movie plays the roles well with humor and charisma, he well depicts the way porter becomes attached to the lives of the clients offering them solace to their predicaments. The main cliché lies within porter clientele the way they sympathize with him after narrating his predicaments and how this effect changes in their lives. Porter becomes successful in his sales trade and asks for a challenge from his employer to be en-routed to the hardest route of sales, the route proves to be a headache abut soon Porter is able to relate with the clientele in this route and make a huge sales and bond with them providing solace and advice to their social and domestic problems (Schachter).

Conclusion

This movie is the best portrayal of disability is not inability. This is best displayed by Porter who has CP but is not deterred by this fact to follow his dreams. This movie shows how people with some deficiency ailment are treated in the community when it starts but due to the self-worth of Porter, this turned around and is even used as a turning point for many other healthy people in the society. This is the best movie that has morals that should be adapted not only for the people with disabilities but even those who are perfectly well and healthy. The movie holds the most appropriate theme that almost all the movies that are produced should harbor, this is the possession of the virtue of patience and persistence portrayed by the porter in his quest for good sales.
