The Nature of ISIS Fighting
The Islamic State (formerly the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIS) is a terrorist organization operating in Iraq and Syria. The main ideological postulates of the organization are outlined in the Declaration, published in five languages, proclaiming the creation of a new pseudo-caliphate under the rule of Caliph Ibrahim. In this context, it is essential to define the term caliphate. This word is used to designate the feudal Arab-Muslim theocratic state created by Muhammad.
Since the Caliph is the direct governor of the Prophet, the purpose of creating ISIS is a matter of theology. It is also worth noting that the word theocratic is used in the definition of the Caliphate. This term makes it clear that the religious and secular aspects are involved. In other words, despite having a religious base, ISIS’s battle has political aims based on the rejection of civilization and the desire to seize power.
The Relevance and Threat of ISIS
Today, one of the leading world problems and threats to world security is the widespread expansion of ISIS, which has captured significant territory in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan in recent years. International terrorist groups have unleashed an armed confrontation against civilized humankind and an all-out information war. The propagandist and the ISIS recruiting system can be found on social networks.
With the spread of the Internet and local networks to which the state does not have access, the danger of ISIS is growing. This problem is hazardous for the younger generation. There are known cases of using chats in online video games to recruit young people into the ranks of ISIS (Hamidaddin, 2020). The psyche of teenagers is especially unstable, which makes it possible for propagandists to manipulate them more easily. In connection with the above factors, the problem of ISIS remains relevant and dangerous for all humanity, especially for the younger generation, whose lives can be broken.
