The company has had a tremendous growth rate over the past several decades, growing from a profit margin of $1.08 billion in 1990 to the current state.

The main obstacle for the company is the rising competition from Target and other retailing giants. The company has maintained a cheap supply chain to stay at the top of the competition. In 2006, the company faced a human resource crisis, which was solved by introducing appraisal programs and training and development programs.
