First, the video raises the issue of defining the role of school and family in a child’s life. The expert states the pointlessness of the argument and the joint work of the institutions that are important in the education and life of the child (CtCmsnOnChildren, 2012). Adolescents develop in school and communication with their parents to be productive, functioning, and capable adults. Particularly emphasized is the idea that parents need to be included in the child’s educational process, which is the next problem I noted in the video I watched.
The expert notes that with high parental involvement in school life, adolescents begin to excel at learning new things. However, this does not mean it is necessary to do everything instead of the students, thereby turning them off from the educational process (CtCmsnOnChildren, 2012). It is essential for parents to see the boundaries of their involvement and to work effectively with teachers to get high results (Dogan et al., 2021). From this statement comes a third important issue that I noted in the video, which is the development of partnerships in the school.
School partnerships play an essential role in fostering future leaders among students who can shape not only their own lives but also the lives of others. It is important to understand that such relationships are built between the three sides of the process: parents, students, and teachers. Schools are making notable reforms to build the necessary level of communication at all levels (Epstein, 2019). It is essential because it creates a healthy environment that fosters students’ overall development and personal growth. Each issue is essential in building a civil and responsible society with high accountability and the necessary leadership skills (Epstein, 2019). School and family are the themes of institutions that must continually evolve and consider previous practices of building a healthy environment and organizing processes.
