Introduction
Public health nurses have an impact on the well-being of communities through assessments and interventions. Because they are change agents who facilitate the transition to new systems, DNP-prepared medics instill advanced knowledge in citizens across the United States. They are key in protecting and promoting the health of individuals, preventing diseases, and caring for the disabled.
Discussion
Further, they serve in important leadership roles across different states in the US, which allow them to contribute to public health initiatives. For example, the NDP normally collects data about health issues, monitors, evaluates and makes informed decisions about the population’s health in the country (Monica et al., 2020). By serving in leadership positions, they assist in the development of policies that are meant to promote the general well-being of Americans. They accomplish this by conducting scientifically evidence-based research and drawing conclusions about public health guidelines. Additionally, DNPs ensure that vulnerable communities get healthcare services, as well as maintaining competent practitioners in all public health facilities.
DNPs serve as program directors who oversee the organization, designing, piloting, and execution of evidence-based community health systems that are initiated at the state or federal level. In addition, DNPs play an important role in multiagency planning groups, and together they oversee policy establishment, financial controls, patient-centered care, quality improvement, safety, and informatics (Edwards et al., 2018).
Conclusion
Further, they lend their expertise in public policy and advocacy and serve as team leaders in state departments of health. Here, they ensure the efficiency, quality, and accuracy of systems and services. Lastly, DNPs assess and recommend the education levels of the health practitioners required to meet the nursing needs of the states.
