I believe that the health of the population is the most important factor in successful social development and national security. Additionally, this is an important resource for ensuring the stability of the state in the field of the social sphere. That is what motivates me to work as a nurse practitioner. I, as a nurse, can maintain and improve the health of individuals and the health care system as a whole. The role of the nurse in the team is the most responsible, since the nurse has the closest contact with the patient and his or her family and performs a large amount of work.
Unequal treatment in health care is not limited to the critical denial of provision of health services. Inequality is expressed in the form of different attitudes towards people of different sex, race, religion, and on the basis of other biased features. Additionally, examples of discrimination in healthcare facilities include the provision of incorrect information, the requirement to obtain permission from a third party to provide services, the lack of privacy, and the violation of confidentiality requirements (Nguyen, 2018). As a nurse, I will apply only equal treatment to people of different skin colors and other characteristics. Additionally, I am ready to actively participate in commissions on ethical relations in the healthcare system.
For those who think they may be eligible for the stipend for service to our Spanish-speaking Latinx communities, I suggest using helping people as a key motivation. Small communities are usually the least noticed by the medical community, and this is a chance to make medical services equitable. Within my personal experience, after realizing that I didn’t speak Spanish, I started looking for ways to work with the language barrier. Now I understand that the presence of communication skills allows me to fluently interact with patients, even speaking different languages, through the presence of empathy.
