The communication revolution supports the energy revolution when it is substantially lithe. The first revolution was the Industrial Revolution. It was created with the combination of cheap energy that arose due to technological advances. Steam energy powered machinery and fueled a revolution in communications.

There were enough people going through the school institutions in Europe and America to take over jobs and push forward the revolution. The second mentioned revolution was the second Industrial Revolution. It took place after the discovery and development of centralized electricity in combination with the telephone and radio, as well as TV (Wanghorn par. 3).

Peak globalization is the attainment of maximum utility from present forms of energy sources, which are mainly fossil fuels. It refers to a situation where there can be no more substantial improvement in supply and utilization of fossil fuels to cause an increase in the level of development around the world and sustain it for decades to come. Fossil fuels are already the main part of the global economy because they facilitate transportation, food, and power buildings. Fossil fuel is not renewable and its shortage causes economic collapse, while its increase causes surges in economic performance (Wanghorn par. 3-5).

Climate change is the rise in temperatures caused by an increase in carbon dioxide emitted to the atmosphere, which ends up causing changes to the hydrological cycle of the earth. The effect leads to the destruction of ecosystems. It is a feature that can wipe out all plant and animal life when left unchecked. It needs the world to half the amount of carbon dioxide that is released to the atmosphere. Climate change is mostly a product of fossil fuel burning to create energy for various sectors of the economy (Wanghorn par. 5).

The third Industrial Revolution is the combination of energy decentralization, the use of renewable energy on a mass scale, and relying on the Internet as the main communication channel for personal and business activities. The revolution places the task of energy creation and distribution in the hands of independent small scale and large-scale producers who use renewable sources of energy. This means that entire cities, made up of thousands of households will become the main producers of electricity and other energy forms for consumption in the cities and distribution of the excess energy to other cities or to storage facilities.

The Internet, on the other hand, fuels independent production of education and its dissemination to individuals to allow people to take part in economic activities independently, according to their strengths. At its heart, the revolution will ensure technology for the collection and distribution of energy is free like the Internet.

The first pillar is the goal of achieving twenty percent reliance on renewable energy by 2020 in Europe. Secondly, there is the conversion of buildings in cities into collection and storage, as well as distribution points for various forms of renewable energy. The third pillar is the conversion of excess energy into storable forms in hydrogen. The fourth pillar is the sharing of energy in a decentralized manner through a creation of an energy internet. The fifth pillar is the integration of transport with the energy and the Internet so that cars can consume, store, and share energy.

Implications of the third revolution include hastening of development in developing nations as they leapfrog their progress to the five-pillar framework. The revolution will also run uninhibited in nations and will support continental affairs more than national markets and governments. It will change how globalization takes shape.

Provider companies for technologies that service providers possess the power of sellers due to their limited number. The level of rivalry is ushered by the number of companies offering the same or similar service to clients. New entrants have limited power because the existing players use patents on technologies to safeguard themselves. Substitute products are very strong because they are cheap and do not have a green element attached.

Green IT is important to businesses. It allows businesses to measure their impact on the environment, make adequate plans, and take the right steps in mitigating the negative effects. Therefore, green IT helps businesses meet stakeholder demands.

It is possible to use the concepts in my job. I can help accelerate progress in my job through building capacity and relying on established brands, rather than operating as a startup only.

Presently, there are no green IT products used in my company. However, the energy management system is being implemented partially to help review the way the firm is utilizing its energy input.

I have seen various green approaches applied at work and in school. For example, at school, there are systems put in place to ensure that the cost of lighting remains low. The automatic light management system monitors light usage and estimates the needed light. It automatically switches off unnecessary lights, rather than leave the lights on until an employee is available to switch them off. A lot of energy monitoring also takes place at work, with the management relying on the analyzed reports to make plans.

I would advise Shekhar Dasgupta to keep doing things the same way, as they have led to the growth of the company. The strategy led to the development of two key products that are helping the company get high profile clients. At the same time, the GFS Crane DC and GFS Crane SMS are not easy to replicate by rivals (Abraham 4).

“Energy efficiency for data centers in most cases is interesting, but not an immediate need. High Availability (HA) is.” Firms want to be efficient in their energy use. However, their biggest need is the energy itself. They cannot be efficient when there is no energy to use in the first place.
