Health care is the most important element of the social sphere and aims to maintain and strengthen the population’s health through preventive, curative, and other types of activities of medical institutions. The fundamental role of health care as an essential condition for the life of society is recognized in the legislative acts of all civilized countries (Watt et al., 2019). It is considered an essential factor in the country’s national security as a system of public and state socio-economic measures that ensure a high level of protection and improvement of public health. The implementation of the main tasks of health care is facilitated by a compelling state policy and the correct necessary financing of the system.
Public funding is also superior to private funding in terms of value for money, which, as we have said, is a critical issue in achieving economic and fiscal sustainability. The US experience suggests that too much reliance on private funding can lead to too much health care spending. The rate of change in the number of Americans who cannot afford health care is alarming (Morse, 2022). In a short time, we have seen how the availability of medical services has become a problem even for the highest-income households in the country. It suggests that the problem is getting more extensive and more profound. When Americans are already sensitive to price increases in all walks of life, any existing medical debt will likely make Americans think twice before stepping into the system.
Thus, due to the increased prices for the services offered and the inability of citizens to access the health care system, there is a problem of demand for a diverse offer (Cohen & Rodgers, 2020). It may influence the decision to implement artificial intelligence (AI), as it may not be able to recoup the proposed funding. However, the population’s general health level also depends on the development of the health care system, so medical expenses are, in any case, a good investment. Thus, it can be considered that from an economic point of view, it will be necessary to invest in health care further and introduce and develop public funding. That will avoid problems with high health care costs and contribute to further development.
