The application of mathematics has escalated to almost every field today. Various organizations have employed maths in advertising their products through websites and articles. The central concept behind using mathematics in advertisements is analyzing products and evaluating the most frequently purchased product (Vijayakrishnan et al., 2018). Even though there are other methods of placing adverts on products, mathematics greatly helps observe patterns in product purchases.
An example is the article “Comparison of Clinical Efficacy of Three kinds of toothpaste in Reducing Dentin Hypersensitivity.” This article uses mathematics in comparing the efficiency of kinds of toothpaste. The three kinds of toothpaste contain 1040 ppm, 1450 ppm, and 1100 ppm, and all have 8.0% of strontium acetate, arginine, and strontium, respectively. After the test, the toothpaste with 8.0% arginine proved to be more efficient than the two other kinds of toothpaste. Additionally, the toothpaste with 8.0% arginine was better than the one with 8% strontium. This article is an effective way of promoting the toothpaste containing 1040 ppm with 8.0% of strontium acetate because it puts the product ahead of the two other products in terms of efficiency using mathematical figures. This is a clear example of the application of mathematics in advertisement and article writing.
