The Management Top 250 ranking system provides an estimate of the overall corporate effectiveness of selected businesses. Particularly, it measures business performance based on the levels of “customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength” (Yates, 2022, para. 2).
In this context, the “Top Companies for Social Responsibility” article conveys the top-ten results of 2022 Spring’s evaluation of companies based on the social responsibility level. According to Yates (2022), HP Inc, Intel Corp, and Microsoft Corp hold the first three positions in the social responsibility rating. However, their positions in the overall rating are actually in reverse: Microsoft Corp holds the first position, Intel Corp is the fifth, while HP Inc. is the tenth (Yates, 2022). Apart from the Management Top 250 ranking data, the article also provides some information regarding the leading companies within the framework of other ratings.
In the reality of modern business, corporate social responsibility (CSR) plays an integral part. According to Latapí Agudelo (2019), CSR implies a business model that allows companies to improve society and the environment. In other words, it organizes the company’s activities in a way that promotes all three components of the triple bottom line – profit, people, and the planet – in an ethical and sustainable manner. In the context of the article mentioned above, HP Inc, Intel Corp, and Microsoft Corp activities adhere to these SCR principles the most.
