Painting
Painting is the act of putting paint on a surface. Painting is also referred to as the application of color on the surface. Paint is made of colored powder, which is mixed with a sticky liquid (Hanson, 2008). Below is an example of a painting. The figure qualifies to be painting because colors are applied on a surface to bring an image.
Sculpture
The sculpture is the artistic work involving a three-dimensional work of art. Sculptures can also be defined as representations of human beings, animals, plants, or any other real object placed on a flat surface like Stone, Metal, Glass, or pottery (Civarid, 2005). The figure below is an example of a sculpture because it represents the image of a human being and shows the three dimensions, and has a base, which it stands.
Architecture
Architecture is defined as an abstract and nonrepresentational involving manipulation of relationships of voids, spaces, and planes. Architecture can also be defined as the art of organizing structures and visions to create a sufficient foundation, which delivers a set of requirements (Giachetti, 2010). The figure below is an example of architecture because it is made from different structures, which are combined to produce the desired materials.
Photography
Photography is a combination of subjective thoughts, creative imagination, visual design, and practical organizing ability (Langford, 2010). Photography is also defined as a drawing using lights. The figure below is an example of photography because it has been created through light on a sensitive surface. Similarly, it qualifies to be photography because it is created from creativity by an artist.
Printmaking
Printmaking is a form of art that involves transferring paint or ink from a matrix to a material surface such as paper, fabric, among others. It is also a form of art involving the production of images on papers, by a process of multiplication (Wye, 2004). The example below is printmaking because it involves paint in the production of images, which can be multiplied on a surface.
Conceptual art
Conceptual is a form of art involving movements, which prizes ideas over visual components in the form of artwork. It can also be defined as a form of art with intention of conveying ideas to the perceiver. It worked in rejecting the appreciation of traditional arts like sculpture and painting (Arnold, 2010). The figure below is an example of conceptual art because it passes a concept or ideas to the perceiver, making it acquire the above definition.
Installation art
Installation art is a site-specific artwork comprising a group of discrete art objects on the entire assemble, which provides the viewers with the experience of being surrounded by an environment of work (Moon, 2001). It is also the installation of interior and loading with disparate materials, which evokes feelings. The figure below is an example of installation art as it provides the feelings about that environment through the objects assembled.
Performance art
Performance art is a form of art which focuses on physical presence and direct physical presence of live event and setting aside theatrical orientation (Berghuis, 2006). Performance art may also be defined as the live presentation of art by artists or a group of performances. The picture below is an example of a snapshot from performance art. It involves two people performing to the audience, making it acquire the definition of performance art.
