Introduction
Communication is the process through which information is passed from one person to another so as to create knowledge and awareness. It is therefore an art that is carried out through a given media. Human communication can either be oral or non-verbal. Concept of human communication involves several and separate elements that are incorporated in the communication process to provide integrated and harmonious information. These incorporations provide what is referred to as a mode or pattern of communication which creates self awareness. It can also refer to the means that facilitate or discriminate barriers to effective communication.
A communication concept is to be guided by particular objectives to be achieved in any given communication strategy. Most cases they aim at bringing a change in the cognitive behavior of the persons with an aim of making the person aware of the surrounding. It should start with a particular direction. After deciding to take this cause, I learnt the inherent value of self reliance and self awareness. Before I new the importance of my cause I had to first learn the concept of encoding, decoding, and the effects of stimulus, alienation resulting from boredom and disorientation, demonstration of linguistic order domination, mediation and archetype. Major concepts of human communication revolve around the source, message, medium and finally the recipient (Beebe, S. Ivy, D. Beebe, A, 2007).
In this paper, concept of mediation in human communication is discussed exclusively in relation to engineering courses. Mediation simply means to intervene in the case of two so as to bring order. This concept has responsibility of creating an amicable understanding between the major parties involved in the communication process. These comprise the source and the recipient of information. Within a given setting mediators are needed to allow even the voiceless to be heard.
In mediation concept, the medium acts as the agent in the process. Having learnt this I became aware of the channel to be used, the range of communication and the agency of the information are taken care of. This is simply creating responsibility (O’sullivan, T and Saunders, D. (1994).
An episode on the other hand refers to an instance of a particular sequence of events that are taking place mechanical Engineering is concerned with various procedures. Some times the work schedule represents a drama or simply a literal work. Human communication dealing with an episode should be strategic and have a specific direction. This implies that communication concept focusing a given episode should first identify the objectives that are to be met. Under this episode, communication concept must have an objective statement. These statements should be in simple and in measurable terms. Such goals include creating self awareness to students on the importance of the course and the opportunities that are available for the same
The second aspect of the concept should identify the targeted person within the cultural society. In this category the modeler, engineer, system architect and soft ware developer are the most important determiners of the type of communication concept to be used. One has to keep in mind the type of group or classes the concept is to handle and their interests (Goldner, P, 2007). Taking this cause has given me an intuition through human communication.
The last consideration in human communication concept for Mechanical engineering is the means. This aspect considers the question on how communication should be relayed, transferred and received. When all these procedural communication concepts have been considered, then the volunteer listener can be obtained to contribute to the objectives. The work of the engineers is to ensure that the system works completely.
Analysis of the Communication Concept Experience
Cultural studies have shown a critical need of mediation concept in the present technology attached generation. As engineers taking part in the project, awareness is needed to ensure proper inclusion of present technology. This can be reasoned out given that the episode is made up of groups and classes. The modern society based on the 21st century hot medium which would cause burns as a result of miscommunication. It is advisable for the agency to have codes and channels alert enough to compete the media technology (Van der Heijden, K, 2005).
The audience should be active enough be aware of their involvement. This can only be obtained if a demonstration of linguistic order is shown. This means nothing much can be achieved with the continuous use of non- official language. Body stimulus is another aspect of human communication that culture should be aware of in the mediation process. In most cases, people have felt alienated as a result of boredom and disorientation.
When the media fail to consider the diversity that is in the cultures, human communication process encounters barriers in its process to solve cultural crisis. Mediation processes is required so as to ensure the satisfaction of the human memory. It considers all the aspects of the episodes that are involved in the process of solving a communication crisis (Danon-Boileau, L, 2006). This can be achieved through proper transfer of information which involves storage (encoding) and retrieval (decoding). This process is called self reliance which require individual to first reflect on self.
Conclusion
Human communication is an important concept of life that ensures peaceful coexistence among those who live together. In a socio cultural episode, the mediation concept with its media plays a key role in uniting the parties. It helps create realization of the goal to be achieved and how it is to be achieved. This is called self awareness. This course has enabled me to obtain a chance of realizing what I actually want and how it is too be achieved. The medium supersedes the source of information and should therefore be seen as the message itself.
This means that the manner in which the information will be conveyed determines the future relationship of the parties involved. When the audience is seen as a passive participant and the medium is filled with data, crisis might arise. This calls for proper transfer of mediation process.
Alienation may occur where an individual is bored or disoriented due to lack of self awareness. This is where the audience and the media fail to understand one another. The message should therefore be laced in proper and a plain language to allow decoding. The result of this is the elimination of suspicion leading to good future relationship. Anti language should not dominate the linguistic order if proper relationship is to be upheld. Self awareness leads to self fulfillment and a reflection with an aim of obtaining better recommendations for the future.
