Hello and welcome to the 2023 Video Contest Scholarship winners announcement! As always, it’s an exciting time for all of us, so let’s get started.
But first, we wanted to take a quick look at this year’s statistics to see how the contest went.
The total number of submissions for this scholarship was 125. We were unable to accept 14 works for a variety of reasons. Some didn’t meet all the requirements, while others had copyright issues, low production quality, or problems with sound. There were also videos made on last year’s topics and attempts of cheating, so we had to disqualify such participants. We’re thankful to everyone who pointed that out and helped our team to make the contest as fair as possible.
As a result, we accepted 111 submissions, and 92 of them were picked for the second evaluation stage.
All the works that participated in the voting gathered 9257 likes and 25361 views, generating 242 hours of viewing time. Quite big numbers!
It’s time to tell who’s won.
- Veronica Nwanna took first place and won the $1,000 prize. Her video titled “A Day In The Life Of A Successful Student” got 667 votes and gathered 1379 views. Great result!
- Nikolaos Corr took second place and won the $500 prize. His video titled “The FIX to Procrastination” got 452 votes and gathered 1466 views. Well done!
We’re genuinely grateful to everyone who took part in the contest this year and to all those who watched and placed their votes. Don’t be discouraged if you weren’t lucky enough to win. We hold these competitions regularly, so you’ll have your chance.
