The prosecutor’s case analysis
The prosecutor in this case has a legal responsibility of determining whether the case is worth hearing in a court of law or not. The determination will depend on the strengths and weaknesses of the case as presented to the prosecutor by the detectives. This is a consideration of a case presented by Detectives Smith and Jones regarding a murder case involving Sally Thomas, a Big State University student, who was the victim and John Brown; her boyfriend and also the suspect.
Strengths of the Case
The body of Sally Thomas was found nude on the bed. This gave a literal impression that there was a high chance of a mutual interaction between the deceased and a male prior to the incidence. John was a prime suspect in this case because the deceased was last in a relationship with him and she was never seen with another man prior to her death. The unknown man must have then tried to rape Sally before killing her. Similarly, the case of the DNA of the cells recovered from the towel may be true as proven, but John may have used the towel hours before the incident because he was welcome to use Sally’s towel as her boyfriend.
Recommendations
However, since the case presented is weightier on the strengths than on the weaknesses, the evidence is sufficient enough to warrant the arrest of the suspect, who in this case is Mr. John Brown. This is inconsiderate of the effect the arrest would have on his career.
