Considering that the patient remains highly mobile and wanders at night, it is important to ensure her safety. The caregiver is recommended to install safety locks and alarms on all doors and windows to prevent the patient from leaving the apartment without supervision. Furthermore, all medications, alcohol, and sharp objects should be kept under lock when not in use. It is imperative that the apartment is kept clean and not cluttered to prevent tripping and falling. In addition, a daily routine should be developed and displayed in an accessible place to remind the patient. As mobility may decline with the progression of Alzheimer’s, regular physical exercise is recommended. It can be supervised by the caregiver to reduce the risk of injury.
