It seemed highly probable that Great Britain, which successively crushed the power of the Netherlands, Spain, and France, would easily cope with the rebellious colonies. The advantages that Britain had were in a trained army, led by experienced commanders (Wallace). The British government quickly obtained loans, and its army was not short of anything. The main drawback lied in the fact that the country was not able to ensure its continuous replenishment of people. England used paid troops by acquiring people from different countries.

At its birth, America had to assemble an army slowly. In the process of the war itself, the country had to create command personnel and to find money (Wallace). Throughout the war, the rebel army suffered from a lack of weapons. On the side of benefits, the country had a sense of liberation. American army fought for their land where they wanted to live. This consciousness raised the morale of the military, and the advanced tactics allowed it to get a victory over superior enemy forces.

The first successes of the soldiers gave confidence to the young American army. For the final victory, the Americans needed the help of strong allies. The best way was to attract France to strengthen American positions and weaken their long-time enemy, Britain (Wallace). The entry of the partners into the war dramatically changed its course. Russia and Austria made proposals for peaceful mediation, which also helped rebels to win the war in the end.

Overall, one can say that the American army won over the mightiest empire of the time of the American Revolutionary War, Britain, due to its sense of community and union over the common enemy. The allies of the US, mainly France, helped the country to weaken the positions of England and get the additional forces needed for the victory. America got the independence that it was striving for with a strong desire to get freedom; this mindset helped the country to win.
