Currently, Democrats have been engaged in campaigns to have the budget passed to avoid a government shutdown. The party has a national committee that is charged with the responsibility of organizing presidential nominations, funding, and providing practical support to the nominees. Apart from the national committee, the party has other sub-committees that resource for candidates and does campaign across the country.
The party is engaged in convincing many Americans especially in the grassroots to vote through the program ‘Organizing for America.’ As written on its website, democrats continue to battle for the rights of voters which is a defining concept of democrats since its inception.
While the democrats embarked on changing its institutional structure by strengthening the national committee, Republicans are engaging in activities that increase their ability to acquire resources and services for their candidates to enable the party’s organization to grow stronger throughout the nation. The Republicans are committed to making sure that these goals are realized as setting up by the national committee (Schmidt, 101).
