The Spiritual and Biblical Motivation for the Study

Leadership can have a spiritual and Biblical dimension and motivation. For example, an essential quality for a good leader is fairness and honesty towards other people, which, in turn, are essential characteristics of a successful leader. Moreover, the leader should create the most favorable conditions for his subordinates. Locke (2019) interprets the role of a leader in a biblical context as that of a servant. They ensure that the needs of employees are met to ensure efficient operation and high productivity. An example of a successful leader from the Bible was Moses, who managed to lead the Jews.

In addition, the Bible shows the importance of empathy and helping others, which can be regarded as one of the critical qualities of a good leader. According to the Bible, only a kind and wise person who makes informed decisions based on objective facts can be a good leader who can lead people (Locke, 2019). My research was aimed at identifying problems that leaders commit. The issues identified are broadly comparable to biblical principles about what it means to be a good person.

The Impact of the Study on Faith and Worldview

The research I did had an impact on my faith and worldview. After analyzing leadership problems in Nigeria, I realized that leadership positions are not always filled by people who deserve them. Often, leaders are dishonest people who do not help others and do not cope with their duties. For example, leaders are often selfish and pursue only personal gain in their actions, contrary to the biblical ideas about a good person and leader.

After researching and learning about leadership issues in Nigeria, I realized the importance of education and building the correct values in people. In many ways, the basic principles of leadership are based on building relationships between people. For example, it is much more pleasant to communicate with a kind, empathetic, and honest person than with a rude and unfair one. A leader’s relationship with subordinates is not much different from that between friends when no one is trying to gain personal gain. Moreover, only the person who people support can be considered a leader. Therefore, this study helped me realize that you must be a good person to become a good leader.

Using Biblical Principles to Influence Leadership with God’s Healing

The Bible contains the basic principles of what kind of people can be considered reasonable and what kind of evil. Biblical principles can be used in leadership to correct identified problems. For example, the Bible tells stories of good leaders who cared for their subjects, like Jesus, Moses, and David (Locke, 2019). At the same time, some leaders in Nigeria only care about their interests and make decisions that could harm others.

In addition, the Bible talks about good and evil and the importance of making informed decisions. One of the main problems of leadership is the inability of people to analyze the situation and make decisions that will lead to the common good. Therefore, using Biblical principles in this matter could contribute to a positive change in the behavior of leaders in Nigeria.

Moreover, the Bible encourages people to develop and increase knowledge constantly. These are essential characteristics of a leader because their world constantly changes. In addition, leaders could share their knowledge with others, contributing to their development. Another essential principle is mutual assistance and love for others. By developing these traits, leaders could create a friendly atmosphere and make people around them happier. Thus, the use of biblical principles could have a positive impact on leadership.
