The business sphere requires paying high attention to the constantly changing environment due to the necessity to adapt to the alterations to remain competitive on the market. In turn, the current role of the business analysts is highly underestimated, as the bias of the explanation is present in the modern world. The primary intention of the research topic is to emphasize the vitality of the business analysts in the definition of the flow of the organizational processes. This subject highly interests me, as it has a direct application to my future careers and helps depict the interdependence between the analysis and practical application of the findings. In turn, I would like to contribute to the development of my workplace while proposing the right solutions to the issues based on the analysis.
Furthermore, the topic is highly relevant to the course, as it focuses on the professions in business research while defining the organizational benefits. In turn, it will address the core themes such as the ability to analyze big data and selections of the appropriate research design. In turn, the complexity and significance of the business analytics will be determined, as these matters were accentuated during the course. Lastly, the research will provide a portrayal of the critical aspects of the research profession, which were emphasized in the classes.
Research Question
Firstly, the rationale of the research topic has to be discovered, as it remains evident that the understanding of the potential ways of the business analysts’ impact on the functioning of the organization contributes to the discovery of the probable areas for improvement. Additionally, the outcomes of the research will highlight the significance of this profession to the ability of the firm to enhance its organizational performance. The perception of the researchers in the business area will be altered in a positive direction due to the beneficial implications of the analytics to the interpretation of KPIs’ results and adjustment of the corporate culture. Lastly, higher attention will be paid to the development of the skills of future research and business analysts.
In turn, the research question has to be formulated to outline the flow of the research and determine the possible outcomes. The research questions can be defined as ‘Do the research of the business analytics contribute to the development and modifications of the strategy?’ and ‘How can they increase the competitiveness of the firm?’.
Thesis Statement
In this instance, the thesis statement can be described as the research of the business analysts has a positive influence on the development and modifications of the corporate strategy and increases the competitiveness in the future by interpreting the KPIs and modifying the organizational goals.
Preview of the Argumentation
The primary goal of this section is to outline the flow of the argumentation and determine the potential methodology, which will be applicable in the context of the selected research topic. Firstly, the literature review will be conducted to provide the correlation between the theoretical framework and practical application while evaluating the findings in the reliable sources (Oliver 104). In this instance, the core argument is the advantageous influence of business analytics on the modifications of the strategy and definition of the plan of actions to reach the organizational goals rapidly. In turn, supporting arguments will be the ability of the researchers and analysts to depict trends and the changes in roles. Consequently, it allows adjusting the KPIs and objectives to establish a competitive strategy.
Another source of argumentation is gathering information about the topic with the assistance of the interviews with the representatives. It remains evident that the interviews will provide practical proof of the findings, which were highlighted in the literature review. In this case, the core argument of the vitality of the profession in the business field will be supported with the assistance of the supporting arguments such as the description of the key tasks of the analyst, influence on the decision-making and problem solving, and the contribution to the strategy development with the establishment of the plan and interpretation of KPIs. The sample will include five professionals from the industry.

Firstly, the article Identifying the Education Needs of the Business Analyst: An Australian Study by Richards and Marrone defines that the research analyst is an essential actor in the organization due to the ability to combine technological support and consultancy while enhancing the route of reaching the organizational goals (Richards and Marrone 35). This article reveals the essentiality of the profession in the world which focuses on the critical educational characteristics, which portray a plethora of skills to be acquired by the students before starting the job.
Additionally, the publication What Do Analysts Do? Discussion of Information Interpretation or Information Discovery: Which role of Analysts Do Investors Value the Most? Lo portrays the essentiality of the duties, which are cherished by the management, due to the ability to affect the flow of business processes in the organization positively (Lo 642).
Furthermore, the book Business and Competitive Analysis: Effective Application of New and Classics Methods by Fleisher and Bensoussan highlights the inevitability of the role of the analysts in the managerial decision-making (Fleisher and Bensoussan 426). It remains evident that the findings of this article prove the presence of the capability of the analytic projections to affect the strategic reasoning of the management.
In turn, the article The Effects of Analyst Forecasts and Earnings Trends on Perceptions of Management Forecast Credibility by Gaynor and Kelton portrays the possibility of the analysts influence the performance of the company positively by projecting trends (Gaynor and Kelton 189). Nonetheless, this approach represents a high correlation between managerial decision-making and the ability to predict the potential development of events.
Additionally, the analysis of the data, which is acquired from the KPIs contributes to the formation of the scenarios of business development, claim Rodriguez-Rodriguez et al. in the article Building Internal Business Scenarios Based on Real Data from a Performance Measurement System (Rodriguez-Rodriguez et al. 50). This matter emphasizes the significance of the role of the analysts while functioning on the market.
Lastly, analytic research has an influence on the development of strategic units. For instance, the article Effective Forecasting and Judgmental Adjustments: An Empirical Evaluation and Strategies for Improvement in Supply-Chain Planning by Fildes et al. highlights that analytical research can have an advantageous influence on the enhancement of the operation in the supply chain (Fildes et al. 3). In turn, this approach will have a positive effect on the overall performance due to the interdependence of units in the organization.
In addition to using the literature review, the semi-structured interviews with the representatives of the profession will be conducted. In this instance, the potential questions will include “What are the key tasks of the business analyst?’, ‘Does it contribute to the organizational performance and decision-making?’, and ‘Does it has an influence on the strategy formation and problem-solving?’.
