Alice is used by Lewis Carroll as a fictional character in the ‘Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland’. In the book, Alice is characterized by her care and loving abilities. The people around her acknowledge the gentleness and affection offered by Alice to her family members and friends (Weissbrod 219). The Treasure Islands plot develops from Jimmy’s fearful traits as a young boy. He gradually develops bravery and intelligence as he grows up.
Morality and diligence are the key traits that govern the characteristics and responsiveness of Jimmy Hawkins. Jimmy finally sees the need to be the ship’s captain. However, Jimmy’s actions and tendencies depict his youthful age and lack the required maturity to lead. Jim’s character can be analyzed as predictable because he follows the same procedures and acts in the same way in various occurrences. Analysis of the Similarities portrayed between Alice and Jim (Hawkins) and the respective applications of the authors style of literature.
The behavior of Alice is so tremendous and unique that the ‘Wonderland creatures’ who are commonly seen as well mannered and mature seem wicked (Shavit 75). The behavior of Alice is easily recognized, and her polite attitude towards different people and occasions is well established amongst her friends and peers. On the other hand, Alice was neither created as a brat nor as an angel. The author uses various scenarios in the literature to validate of certain instances where noble people forego their normal behaviors and beliefs.
Consequently, the author illustrated on different occasions the negative side and behaviors of Alice. Alice’s level of curiosity is shown as incredibly high. The high level of curiosity is however mitigated through self-control and restraint (Weissbrod 222). The Duchess and Caterpillar tease Alice and lead her into rage and resentment but she manages to control her resentments thus avoiding the exchange of words between her and the people making mockery over her.
The Rabbit disputes the social class of Alice by mistakenly addressing her as a maid or servant. In addition, the pigeon, March Hare, and Mad Hatter discusses the intelligence of Alice with some irrational perspectives that are only found in Wonderland. Alice is subjected to ridicule and rudeness during her entire stay in Wonderland. These challenges are used to weigh the perceptions of Alice of good behaviors and manners (Shavit 77).
The regular subjection to challenges from various origins and perspectives causes some emotional and physical crisis to Alice. In contradiction to the numerous challenges and subjection to ridicule and rudeness in Wonderland, Alice decides to stick to her usual beliefs and behaviors. In addition, the usual way of ordering and controlling the people and things around her starts showing signs of failure. The results of this originate from the constant deterioration of collaboration from the Wonderland creatures.
The challenges intensify to a point that leaves Alice with two options. The character taken by Alice in her ‘dream’ shows a reflection of her in normal life. The literature of the book indicates that the innocent, sweet, simple and later confused traits of Alice during her experience in Wonderland portrays similar real life characteristics (Shavit 86). Hawkins is established as a very independent young person who makes use of adventurous opportunities in the process of his growth and development (Parkes 332). Hawkins is established as a very independent young person who makes use of adventurous opportunities in the process of his growth and development. He is torn between his youthful acts and maturity and between being honorable and practicing the outrageous and irrational behaviors of pirates. The lack of proper decision making indicates the lack of maturity in Hawkins. During the challenges against the pirates, Jimmy Hawkins is portrayed as a hero who succeeds in retaining most confrontations with the pirates.
The author shows the numerous instances that Jimmy has humbled himself against the offences committed against other people. In addition, he is not an arrogant person. Jim’s character can be analyzed as predictable because he follows the same procedures and acts in the same way in various occurrences.
