The Importance of Staff Communication

Effective staff communication in a daycare school helps in streamlining interactions amongst support staff for the wellbeing and development of children. Effective staff communication demands courteous, respectful, sensitive, and patient communication with children. This project is effective in problem-solving. Issues that affect the daycare school are handled with the utmost efficiency and unity. Emerging issues in the school, especially those affecting the learning process of children are highlighted and solved with unity. Therefore, this project is good for problem-solving of issues affecting the learning of children in the school.

The morning sessions are always the most challenging parts of the day in a daycare school. Children, especially day scholars, come in the morning with family-related psychological problems. Tutors in the school, assigned for morning sessions, find it hard to solve children’s problems. It is always problematic to prepare children in the morning to be ready for the day’s program. Patience as a value is required when children are given enough time to be ready for learning. Failure to have this communication value would make children fail to grasp important concepts of learning.

One area that has to be changed in this program is the interaction levels between children and the staff. This program is intended to enhance communication amongst the staff for problem-solving. A different program has to be designed for communication between children and the staff. For this to be effective, an all-encompassing communication strategy has to be designed. This program will evaluate communication with parents or guardians, communication with the community, children, and school administration. In this program, communication levels also have to be evaluated. For example, the nature of communication between teachers and children should not be the same as communication between teachers and the community or parents.

Designing communication channels in a daycare school

The course project is designing communication channels in a daycare school. The project aims at coming up with strategies amongst the staff that can model positive interactions with children and an effective conflict resolution mechanism. For the effective development of children in daycare, motivation has to start at the staff level (Bennett and Colette 422). Effective communication amongst the teaching staff will ensure that children’s learning is coordinated. The pedagogy of teaching the children will also be coordinated and designed from the collective ideas of the teaching staff. This course is therefore intended to have an efficient and effective result for children.

There are several outcomes envisioned in this program. First, this program must have an effective communication channel. An effective communication channel must have four major components, namely, the sender, the message, the recipient, and the feedback. For effective communication, a communication channel in the school must be designed in a way so that the possibility of feedback is ensured.

However, patience in communicating with children has to be ensured. Second, this program must concentrate on building appropriate interactions between various stakeholders of the school. Effective interactions with school staff will be imitated by children positively. There are several elements to enhancing this. First, the staff must know how to support one another as well as how to welcome new people in the school. Teachers and other support staff must also avoid the use of vulgar language as the children will imitate them. The more mature communication between staff is, the more courteous children will learn to be.

The main focus of this project is the way it can improve the learning of children in a daycare school. Communication in a daycare school should not be limited to the teacher-child interaction, but also include school-home and school-community communication (Papatheodorou 200). This is geared towards having a grounded development of the child. Effective child development is one that has the right environment at school, home, and in the community. Early childhood education is always sensitive. It is therefore paramount for utmost care to be given during their learning at school. For example, it is important to ensure that verbal and written languages meant for children are accompanied by actions (Pedler 157). This is to avoid ambiguities and confusion on the part of the children.

For the completion of this project, there are several elements to be ensured. First, there must be reference aids. These aids will be both physical and virtual. For example, every other school staff member will have his or her computer installed with a demonstrative communication diagram. This diagram will detail the essential ingredients of communication to fellow staff members, parents, community members, and children. Second, there will be a communication code of practice. This code will detail appropriate communication strategies for all members and gear towards strengthening the learning process.

The program will also have leadership roles of all people in the school explained. At the top of the communication channel, there will be a team director, then teaching staff, administrative staff, support staff, and lastly the children. However, in communicating with the children, all staff will be advised to have direct contact with them to enhance prompt problem-solving. The leadership communication channel is meant to enhance harmony amongst the staff and leadership of the school.
