Anxiety always causes an individual to experience tension, dizziness, and nausea. The above characteristics can only be experienced during public speaking. Additionally, the problem is it common to those people who are not used to addressing a large audience. Knowing the source of the problem does not mean that it can be easily solved. Therefore, overcoming anxiety depend on an individual’s level of articulation and confidence.

The main problem with anxiety is the inability of an individual to persuade the audience. The main aim of public speaking is to appropriately deliver a message, but with anxiety, an individual will present shoddy work. Therefore, the audience will not be able to welcome the information being presented.

Continuous practice is important since it removes anxiety. This principle focuses on how individuals tend to improve their performance after a given period of time. Therefore, the more an individual practices public speaking, the better they will be able to deliver to the audience. The main problem when it comes to addressing the audience is that individuals tend to recognize the whole viewers gazing at them hence they become anxious. The problem can easily be solved by focusing on a particular individual in the audience. For instance, it can be a friend or a mentor. Nervousness can easily be developed when individual talks fast. Therefore, there are high chances that the public speaker will ignore certain important information thus making a lot of errors. By speaking at a slow pace, the audience will be able to clearly understand the message being passed across. It also helps in getting rid of the anxiety.

The major external pressure an individual might face when addressing the audience is a mockery. The audience may also have different opinions regarding how the presentation is being done. Consequently, it is important for the public speakers to focus on what they are presenting and not the audience. They should perform their best with the available materials. Visual aids can also be used by public speakers to overcome anxiety. Certain images can be used to ignore various external influences.
