Situation

The situation is closely linked with the lack of water, and the offered technology to cope with this problem. It is offered, that water should be decontaminated and used for several times. The sewage water will go through an intensive purification process, closely monitored to ensure it is safe to drink.

Problem

The problem is that, it would require immense investments, and the three-year pilot project will be started soon, but some southern Californians find the prospect very unappetizing. The issue described clearly reveals the problem with water shortage, and the necessity to solve it.

Response

Environmentalists state the project will make Southern California less reliant on imported water and cause lesser destruction of wildlife inhabitants. But as for the citizens, they do not support the idea of making water of toilet wastes, and they may be understood, but currently, it is the optimal alternative.

Evaluation

Experts state, that the experiment will not be cheap, as the length of the process is rather huge, and immense resources are required to be invested into the project, and moreover, it is not an option for third world countries because of the same reason.

Essay

The problem of drinking water shortage is rather burning nowadays. Lots of people live in the regions distant from natural water resources, and the problem of water supply is the problem of high priority. California is one of such regions, and it is necessary to solve the problem as soon as possible. Surely, the offered way is not the best from the esthetical point of view, as no one would agree to drink toilet wastewaters, even inspite of the fact it is physically and chemically decontaminated.

The great advantage of the offered way is that it cares of the wild nature and absolutely ecologically safe. It is stated, that if this proposition is accepted, it the recycled water could supply 70,000 families with tap water. Rather impressive number, isn’t it? Actually, environmentalists are right: the water that we drink has been already drunk before, and probably not only once. It had been subjected to natural filtration and decontamination, and got the rivers and lakes again. Unfortunately, the artificial system may not be so efficient, as it accelerates the filtration process, but the pilot-project will reveal all the truth of this offer.

In conclusion, it should be stated, that in order to avoid such unnatural way of water supply, humanity should think over its behavior, and stop littering water and natural resources. This is the only way to use naturally filtered and sprang water.
