The coronavirus pandemic, which began in late 2019 in China and then swept the whole world, has challenged the usual approaches to personnel management in all organizations, but especially in medical ones. What intrigued me was that one of the most visible effects of the COVID-19 crisis has been the massive use of technology solutions to collect information about the spread of the virus and the physiological state of citizens. This became possible due to the reduction in cost and, accordingly, the widespread use of smartphones and wearables by citizens, which collect data on the lifestyle of their owners. During the pandemic, traditional ways of rewarding employees went by the wayside, new tools began to work (Indiana Center for Nursing, 2021). For all employees, regardless of the direction of activity, involvement in an important and big goal has a positive effect on the organization’s activities.
However, I am concerned about the vaccination situation. Due to increased vaccination rates and declining morbidity rates, it is important to consider developing a special home vaccination program for those who, for health reasons, cannot come to the vaccination site. Vaccination is one of the main ways to fight the pandemic. Therefore, I fear that if the medical community does not reach agreement on vaccinating the majority of people, the pandemic will dominate society for a long time.
In order to improve the quality of the results of my hospital, first of all, I would build regular communication, openly talk about all the changes and innovations. This is necessary in order to support the team, reduce the level of anxiety (Turale et al., 2020). In order to initiate the strategy, I would introduce an internal program for medical staff, where all changes in the medical center would be reported.
Secondly, I would reduce the bureaucracy, finally switch to a complete paperless workflow, get rid of everything that does not add efficiency to the activity. It will take time to start introducing this method. However, it is important to create an electronic program where all documents will be gradually entered. Finally, the situation of uncertainty, the need to adapt to new conditions contribute to the development of stress conditions in all categories of employees. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a rapid survey technique to identify sentiment and receive feedback. This introduction must be initiated immediately through the electronic system for employees.
