The film Cuban Missile Crisis: Three Men Go To War produced by the Public Broadcasting Service throws light on the actions of the political leaders who were involved in the confrontation that could result in the nuclear war. In particular, one should speak about John Kennedy, Nikita Khrushchev, and Fidel Castro, whose decisions could shape the lives of many people. In turn, the authors examine the main priorities of these individuals and the way in which they tried to resolve this conflict.

Each of them dreaded the idea of the nuclear war since they perfectly understood the disastrous effects of this event. So, they knew that they could bring their countries to the brink of destruction. However, at the same time, they needed to demonstrate that they could prevail over their opponents. These are some of the main details that can be singled out.

This film is remarkable because it includes the interviews of people who played an important role in this crisis. For instance, one can mention Ted Sorensen, who was a member of the U. S. Security Council at that time (Cuban Missile Crisis: Three Men Go To War).

Such individuals are much more knowledgeable about the actions and opinions of the main political leaders. Moreover, this documentary includes many photographs, videos, and even songs which give viewers a good idea about the atmosphere of the early sixties. This is one of the strengths that should be identified.

Furthermore, the creators of this movie focus on the experiences of military officers who could be responsible for launching a nuclear attack against their opponents (Cuban Missile Crisis: Three Men Go To War).

Overall, this film is very informative because it shows that the outcome of this crisis depended on the ability of separate individuals to control their emotions, especially at the time when they could start the most destructive military conflict in the course of history. This is one of the issues that the authors of this movie wanted to highlight.

This documentary has produced a strong impression on me because it shows that the lack of communication between the main policy-makers can lead to a catastrophe that can endanger the very existence of humankind. Additionally, this movie shows that the ambitions and irrational behavior of certain individuals can profoundly affect geopolitics.

To some degree, this film highlights the importance of controlling nuclear weapons nowadays, since they can undermine the security of many countries. The authors also remind the audience about the dangerous impacts of nuclear weapons. In my opinion, this issue should not be overlooked nowadays at the time when there are many political tensions between countries that possess these weapons.

Apart from that, this film illustrates the importance of conflict resolution strategies that policy-makers should adopt during such disputes. The Cuban missile crisis broke out because these methods were not properly applied.

So, this film is relevant to some of the issues influencing modern geopolitics. Apart from that, these individuals should keep in mind that their ambitions must not outweigh the needs of many people who do not want to be involved in geopolitical conflicts. These are some of the details that attracted my attention. This documentary film should be considered because it highlights the importance of separate individuals and the impacts of their decisions on the course of history.
