Incorporating sustainability practices within architectural designs improves coexistence between the natural environment and people mainly because of strategic development initiatives (Jia et al., 2019). Architectural patterns and architects promote environmental health, safety, and sustainability. This mainly applies to architects who follow ecological laws and ethics in designing buildings (PH Academy, 2021). For instance, architects promote ecological health and sustainability when designing eco-friendly buildings. These include structures that use renewable materials during construction. Besides, designing systems that use renewable energy sources also promotes environmental health and sustainability. These structures use solar energy for cooking, heating, and powering entertainment devices. As a result, these buildings reduce green emissions, controlling the increasing prevalence of global warming in the world (Steinemann et al., 2017). My overview establishes that by promoting environmental health through eco-friendly structures, humans convert natural and non-renewable resources for future generations.

There is an interdependent relationship between architecture, cultural development, and sustainability. The main reason for integrating cultural development and sustainability enshrines enhancing compatibility and comfort among the dwellers and dynamic stakeholders in adhering to ethical practices (Venkatesh et al., 2020). For example, clients request architects to design buildings with current or antique themes depending on their cultural expectations. In this case, I support Salman (2018), indicating that architects propose using modern building materials and designs. On a different spectrum, architects adopt ancient architectural designs as a constructive approach to satisfying clientele’s demands. Similarly, diverse urban areas and cities have cultural identities because of architectural designs. For instance, some buildings in Rome, Paris, Munich, and Amsterdam reflect the culture of people living in these municipalities (Salman, 2018). The architects design these buildings to create, promote, and sustain the culture of people in various areas (Salman, 2018). As a result, future generations and visitors view these buildings with the identity of these locations’ culture.

The architectural profession plays a crucial role in improving the living conditions among people mainly because of supporting human interaction and relationships. I further support Bernstein and Turban (2018) stipulation that architects create lasting relationships among humans in the building and construction sectors. In a group discussion, we realized that the civil engineers who lead construction projects and other workers interact when discussing architectural designs proposed by architects and clients. During the studies, I noticed a dynamic trend in buildings developed from proposed architectural designs providing enough spaces for humans to interact. For instance, halls, parks, stadiums, and arenas allow humans to interact during different social events based on the profound open-floor layout. The distinct practices enhancing human interaction include sporting, entertainment, educational, and religious events that individuals converge and socialize.

Optimal planning and order of the urban and settlement areas depends on proficiency in architectural designs. In the research by Salman (2018), I recommend the establishment of architects’ functional order and plans as evident in the structural designs they create for residential and commercial places globally. For instance, architects provide architectural designs that allow cities, towns, and municipalities have definite order and plan of structures. These designs enable territorial boundaries to have a definite outlook that allows easy flow of humans, animals, objects, and vehicles (Nagy et al., 2017). In the illustration, through architectural designs, architects create real estate plans to allow human beings to coexist comfortably (Galvis, 2017). These plans foster the development of playgrounds, pathways, roads, and shopping areas different from residential places, thus enhancing a peaceful environment for residents (Nagy et al., 2017). Primarily, I support that human in residential places experience minimal disturbances from commercial activities, shops, vehicles, and recreational events occurring in different places from residential areas.

Architectural designs improve human lives by enhancing safety and security through the profoundly developed layout plans for building and construction. In my view, humans prefer living in secure and safe surroundings for personal reasons. A significant percentage of people prefer living in safe environments to minimize the risk of attacks from thieves and accidental incidents. Moreover, architects create customized structural designs to match an area’s physical and weather conditions for the safety of residents (Voskresenskaya & Vorona-Slivinskaya, 2018). I further concede that the designing of buildings with flexible building materials promotes the safety of residents during harsh conditions such as tornadoes. Similarly, crafting buildings with waterproof materials promotes the safety of occupants in wet regions prone to floods and tsunamis (Voskresenskaya & Vorona-Slivinskaya, 2018). Primarily, structural charting with surveillance cameras and alarm systems elevates the safety of occupants from human and animal attacks. The main reason lies in the profound monitoring of movements within premises and solving incumbent issues such as home invasions by thieves or wild animals, like snakes.

Succinctly, architectural practices play a significant role in promoting socio-cultural and sustainability initiatives. In my view, different individuals and communities utilize different architectural designs mainly because of the associative identity and significance within the region. The evolutionary scale in architectural design and planning encapsulates proficient technological advancement. Primarily, it is the responsibility of distinct stakeholders to focus on the essence of innovation and creativity regarding the distinctive role of architecture in improving people’s living conditions.
