The importance of digital media and its recurrent development cannot be underestimated within the dynamic framework of our community. The emergence of the technologies that facilitate our communication and online connection are expected to be in line with the community’s requirements at all times. Therefore, there is a really high chance of addressing the issue of growing technology when assessing the communication needs and the amount of information that is available to Internet users.
What is even more important, the latter increases unpredictably on a daily basis, and this reveals a number of opportunities for the UN to develop a successful approach to the effective use of social media and other digital sources. It is safe to say that the use of various apps and social networks became a vital part of our everyday life, so our interaction skills undergo numerous transformations daily.
As a consequence, we can expand the reach of the UN and provide the organization with a number of novel approaches to the creation of opportunities for people to connect with each other. The key idea of this strategy is to elicit social motivation and facilitate the process of communicating with individuals from other countries.
Within the Millennial environment, social media and other digital sources of information became a key contributor to the rapidity of communication and its facilitation on a number of different levels. The shift from a face-to-face interaction to an online discussion is critically acclaimed by Internet users as it provides them with a possibility to gain access to the latest news and communicate with their peers, colleagues, and employers.
The UN questions the importance of such shift toward an online interaction due to the lack of emotional background behind messages conveyed online, but it does not take for granted the ability to captivate Millennials and help them engage in numerous activities available on the Internet. The UN expects to bring communication skills back because the existing body of evidence suggests that digital media negatively impacts the community’s ability to deliver messages properly in either written or oral form within the offline environment (Lambert 33).
It is also critical to emphasize the fact that the UN pays close attention to the effect of the digital media on our interpersonal relationships and believes that positive outcomes can be generated and the negative ones can be mitigated. The UN may become an influential leader if they embrace the willingness of Millennials to use social networks and other data sources on a daily basis. By doing this, the UN will be able to help different generations connect and socialize successfully. With the advent of live translations in Instagram, Facebook, and Periscope, Millennials have more and more opportunities to develop their communication skills, so it is only reasonable for the UN to incorporate digital media into their strategy.
The level of interconnection and the number of opportunities to communicate and reach out to the most distant individuals should never be taken too lightly. The UN will become an influential source of creative ideas and influential projects if they take the path of communicating with their followers by means of social media and other digital sources. Constant growth and development are only possible within a dynamic environment that takes the needs of the end users into consideration and allows the latter to express themselves.
