The topic that I have selected for the educational program is ‘Domestic Violence against Women’. Domestic violence is one of the most major menaces in society these days. It keeps on increasing as the tension, stress, and other causes of this problem increase. There is a need to do something about this issue because otherwise, the women of our society may remain oppressed forever.
The target audience for my educational program would be women from middle and lower-income groups because this is where domestic violence is most prevalent. These women are most likely to become victims of domestic violence and these women are most likely to feel oppressed. This educational program will make them realize that they are not alone and this will also make them aware of the choices they have.
The reason why I have chosen this as the topic for my educational program is that victims of domestic violence often feel that they do not have any rights and hence are compelled to live such a life. They give up hope and feel that there is nothing that can be done. These women need a reason to stand up for themselves. This might include anything from getting their spouses or any other family member therapy that might improve the situation or it may also include taking legal action against the person responsible for domestic violence.
