Introduction

All who gather at this conference will find the theme of God’s work resonating in their hearts. Its fulfillment in God’s way is profound, allowing us to hear the call to faithful obedience in its completion. Moreover, the efforts and capabilities of divine power should not be evaluated in the same way as human power is, for these concepts are not correlated. To deepen understanding of at least part of the nature of such work and to increase gratitude and engagement, a detailed examination and discussion of the concept are required, which can affirm the importance of faithful obedience.

God’s Work Beyond Human Endeavors

First and foremost, it is vital to recognize the fact that was announced earlier – that God’s work is not a simple amalgamation of human efforts or ideas seeking to reach Him. This work is directly related to the Lord and often manifests in the hands of humanity (van der Merwe, 2020). Thus, by delving into this theological concept, one realizes the criticality of understanding the divine nature of the tasks facing the church and all faithful ministers of Christianity today. In doing so, it is worth highlighting not only the focus on what people can do for God but also the importance of harmonizing oneself with His will, as His work is revealed through faithful followers who follow His teachings and design in all things.

Call to Faithfulness

In the context of the distinction between human and divine and the call to faithfulness under discussion, it is imperative to recognize that God’s work is not transmitted through human might, authority, or power. It is accomplished solely through His Spirit, and human dependence on divine power instead of one’s own can be a decisive factor. In this format, the Holy Spirit enables us to do the work of God that is permitted to us in a way that glorifies His name and conforms us to all the precepts of faith. Moreover, in overcoming the difficulties of ministry and secular life, each present should reflect on the possibility of committing themselves to complete reliance on the Spirit’s guidance, drawing spiritual and moral power from a source that never runs dry.

The previously named and highlighted path of obedience can be considered central to the paradigm of helping God to accomplish His work through His methods. Following the Lord is a life of obedience, which is not a heavy duty or burden. It is a servant’s response to the grace and love given to every true believer. Our obedience is an open and loud demonstration of our faith, an expression of trust in God’s wisdom and understanding, which we show in all possible modesty. Moreover, the instrument can be marked as the primary one when people honor God by acknowledging His authority, immensity, and sovereignty by submitting their lives to His one valid divine will.

Faith and Service

In discussing this issue, we must not lose sight of the inseparable components of obedience to God stipulated. Two of the most important and indispensable are faith and service. The first becomes the pillar, or foundation, upon which our humble service is erected. Faith is illuminated in the moments of entering into ministry, and each of God’s followers becomes a vessel that conducts and transmits God’s transforming work. Thus, equally logical is the observation that works based on authentically interpreted faith amplify the message of God’s love and grace, invariably and irreversibly impacting the lives of those we encounter.

Relying on God’s Wisdom and Strength

In seeking to fulfill God’s work or to be impacted, we should not forget that everyone should abandon reliance solely on their own wisdom and strength. Undoubtedly, human faculties, among which wisdom is exceptionally distinguished, are exceedingly finite, whereas God’s wisdom and all understanding are infinite. Thus, our strength and confidence may be shaken, but the power of God is unshakable. As church representatives, we must rely more on constantly seeking God’s wisdom through meditation on His word and earnest prayer. By doing so, we can position ourselves as conduits of His divine truth by channeling it into our actions and decisions at every level.

In addition, to truly understand and do God’s work in God’s way, each believer is called to rest in Christ. This concept does not mean idleness or denial of other pursuits but a conscious choice to exist in His presence while drawing nourishment from the source of His love. It is significant as, in the rush and bustle of everyday life, it is all too easy to lose focus and be buried under a pile of circumstances or conventions. For this reason, one of the first steps for church representatives can be to redirect our attention from the problems around us to focusing on Christ. Only in this way can we deepen our understanding and most fully engage in the faithful fulfillment of His will and His work in service and obedience.

Continuous Communion

In addition to the above, abiding in Christ is not a one-time event but must be sustained as a constant and uninterrupted communion. This fact implies a daily surrender of the human will to His will, a rigorous seeking of His face in prayer, and a comprehensive commitment to conform one’s life to His teachings. In this way, by abiding in Christ collectively and individually, one by one, people are given a chance to prepare themselves and the weak human consciousness to bear eternal fruit. This thought is to continually bring glory to God and fulfill the purposes for which each of us was called. Doing God’s work by God’s methods is consistent with such a statement. It becomes available to those who can realize the essence and depth of the changes happening to them and immerse themselves in faith.

In the process of searching for the correctness and direction of the efforts made to fulfill divine tasks, the leading guiding light is the search for and correct interpretation of His will. In other words, in every plan, every strategy of action, decision, and actual activity, the awareness of God’s will must be the compass. Moreover, through prayer, harmonizing our weak human desires with His, and discernment, we can ensure that all our efforts are in harmony with His divine plan. In seeking His will and striking the necessary balance with obviously defined priorities, true satisfaction is found, and ministry effectiveness is achieved.

Meditating on the theme of doing God’s work in God’s way should provoke each true believer to devote their life to faithful obedience. The power and purpose of the church will then be directed in unity with God’s will and will be able to fulfill its tasks, contributing to the advancement and spread of His word, ideas, and grace. In this theme’s context, we ask the Holy Spirit to empower us to base all our actions on a consistently deep and complete faith. Moreover, fixation on Christ will confirm not only that we honor God but also that we are capable of becoming vessels for transformative work. Such activity will reach everything in our lives and all those around us through us, enabling us to truly do His work His way. Amen.
