The U.S based fishing firm has a culture that supports innovation and considers the founding members and employees equal partners. In most companies, company culture plays a critical role in decision-making (Ningtiyas & Rachman, 2020). For example, the board will allocate more money to innovation research and development when allocating funding to various departments. Secondly, the board would consider employees’ opinions when making critical decisions. The U.S based fishing agency has a decentralized structure. This type of structure allows the organization to make fast decisions because of low levels of bureaucracy and better tactical decisions since employees have the best information based on decision-making. An innovative culture will make it easier to enter a new market due to the need to create a new product: the company sees sustainability in constant diversification, which its vision indirectly states. Given that the product must be environmentally friendly in the country of origin, this challenge will be of fundamental importance for the company regarding an ethical statement or mission.
Furthermore, company culture helps in guiding its marketing strategies by displaying the company’s philosophy. Branding and advertising are used to describe what the bureau believes in; in this case, it will revolve around the company’s innovation. In addition, the innovation aspect will attract customers who want to buy modern fishing boats as they are more efficient and actual. The decentralized organizational structure is an advantage due to many reasons. First, the organization grows well since the senior managers focus on long-term goals while the juniors focus on daily goals. Secondly, it promotes responsibility and accountability since workers will make decisions regarding their work. Finally, it breeds more leaders as all staff members are given a chance to make decisions, tapping into their leadership potential. Entering a new market is associated with many risks, so this approach to delegation is practical for their mitigation.
There are market factors that affect the agency’s fishing craft designs. These factors include a preference for foldable boats, eco-friendly laws, and comfortable and lightweight vessels. An emerging market can get an environmentally friendly and efficient product approved by the highest level, which, with some support from the relevant industry, can give impetus to the development of the fishing industry. The process of operation and transportation of the boat will take less time, enabling fishers to pay more attention to their core activities.
The organization will change the foldable watercraft design as it tests the waterproof coating and paper products to determine the most suitable design for use in India. The ship design will be increased to make it cozier. Moreover, the enterprise will use lighter materials to make the watercraft portable. The design team will use a five-step design thinking process in design creation. First, the organization does research and gains an empathetic understanding of the fishing problem. Secondly, they define the fishing problem, which is a need for a keel design that is congenial, mobile, and eco-friendly. Thirdly, they brainstorm ideas with the local anglers on how to solve the problem of mobility and comfortability. Fourthly, they create solutions for problems like the increasing size of ships. Lastly, the local fishers test the newly designed prototype watercraft and give feedback which the firm uses to redefine and solve the problem.
The culture of the company, organizational structure, and ethics of emerging markets will be used to develop the decision-making process. The enterprise will strive to create innovations following its culture; consequently, much money will be spent on research and development of watercraft, stimulating the industry. What is more, most employees will give their opinion on various ship designs when they vote for an aesthetically pleasing design. To achieve customer satisfaction, as indicated in the ethical statement, just the approach of preliminary product testing will allow. The ethical statement poses a challenge when entering a new market to uphold the company’s reputation for environmental sustainability. The National Fisheries Development Board has created all the conditions for implementing each element of the company’s mission and vision in the adaptive conditions of the organizational structure and culture of the company.
