Dietary Recommended Intakes (DRI) refers to “a family of quantitative estimates intakes intended for use in assessing and planning diets for healthy people” and mainly constitutes the Recommended Dietary Intakes (RDI) and Tolerable Upper Intake Level (ULs) as reference values (Otten, Hellwig and Meyers 17). EAR is regarded as the significant daily intake nutrient value that meets the most important requirements for a healthy person of a particular age and gender group.

After calculating the RDI of the foods taken on Wednesday, Tuesday and Sunday, the results depicted the intake of a larger amount of nutrients than it is actually recommended. It was calculated that protein intake was about 69.7 g per day. It means that the intake of protein was higher that the recommended intake. Within the intake, the excess protein is broken down to form glucose that is then stored in the body in order to promote the development of energy when glucose levels have decreased. High protein in the diet leads to mainly different types of allergies such as skin allergies. So, there should be a slight decrease in the protein intake.

It leads to tetany or rigor due to the constant contraction of the muscles. To bring the sodium level to balance, intake of table salt should be recommended in foods (Otten, Hellwig and Meyers 390).

This indicates a high deficiency in the intake of potassium leading to hormone imbalance and constant contraction of the muscles. Fiber intake was found to be 6.1 as compared to the recommended 38g per day. This implies that, cases of constipation, diverticulitis and hemorrhoids are likely to occur. In case the intake of kales, cabbages, pumpkin and water increases, it should be recommended to enhance peristalsis and enlarge the passage of stool. It will reduce cases of anal pouching (Otten, Hellwig and Meyers 371). Considering the achieved results, it is possible to say that the chosen diet is not quite effective, and considerable changes are required to improve personal health.
