To date, the problem of globalization is relevant, and with it the question of the impact of globalization on the environmental sphere is also of great interest. The term “globalization” appeared relatively recently and means the unification of the world economy of countries into a single coherent system, the creation of a common political and economic space. There is a siginificant argument in scietific fields on how this process inflences world’s ecology. In the environmental sphere, globalization mostly has a positive impact on the ecological issues, providing solidarity, cooperation, and international competition.
The consequences of the influence of globalization on the ecological sphere lead to the necessity of international solution of the problems, in the interrelation of the states with each other. In this context, it is not an exaggeration to say that environmental problems lead to national solidarity and mutual cooperation to solve these problems. In addition to cooperation, there is competition between countries, which leads to environmental competition. Many countries, especially in Europe, compete with each other for the title of the greenest, safest country for human life. For example, many countries that are pro-environment have set limits on toxic emissions from industry and have developed and implemented environmentally friendly engines.
Thus, the positive side of the impact of globalization on the environmental sphere is the fact that in the competition between states for the implementation of options to solve environmental problems, these countries are developing all new mechanisms and options to solve such problems. The development of effective state programs is a good start in the struggle to overcome the consequences of globalization in the environmental sphere, as well as to prevent negative impacts on the natural sphere in the future.
