Department of Children and Family Services for National Organization

The organization is headed by the secretary, who is supported by deputy secretary, assistant secretaries, chief of staff, and operating division heads. The operating divisions are Administration for Children and Families, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, Administration for Community Living, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The organization is a state agency that builds the community by providing child support, catering for the welfare of children, offering assistance to families, and other children and families related programs. The organizational culture enables its people to develop policies and behaviors that enhance professionalism. The organizational values promote the social and economic prosperity of communities, families, individuals, and children. The human resource model is hierarchical in nature, with the secretary being the major decision-maker. Teamwork both in managerial and subordinate levels is similar to Blake and McCanse’s Leadership Grid team style leadership that supports the accommodating style of leadership. The organization does not have a concrete strategic plan but has an organization chart (Department of Children and Family Services for National organization, 2012).

Living Independently Forever Inc

The organization structure consists of a business administrator, program administrator, administration assistant, and professional staff in developmental disability. The departments are administration, office management, developmental disability agency, and residential habitation agency. This is a private, for-profit organization that builds the community by offering support and quality services to adults and children with disabilities. Its Organization culture aims at providing emotional commitment and professional services to participants of its programs. This culture is important for the organization because it results in the provision of quality services that guarantee satisfaction to its clients. Building the community affects the value of the organization by demonstrating respect, ingenuity, and dedication aimed at enhancing freedom of choice, a safe environment, and individuality. The human relation model is related to Blake and McCanse’s Leadership Grid and Hersey and Blanchard’s Situational Leadership Model because it employs an accommodating style of leadership (Living independently forever Inc, 2012).

Boys and Girls Club

The organization structure consists of a chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary, treasurer, regional chairs, the board of governors, and assisting staff. The areas of program delivery are health and fitness, education, and preventive measures against violence and crime. The organization is a non- profit state organization. The organization’s culture is based on the mission of assisting the youth in attaining their potential as responsible, caring, and industrious citizens. The organization builds the community by availing life and health skills, career and education programs, leadership and character programs, art programs, and fitness and recreation programs to young people. The building of communities affects the organization’s culture by ensuring that its programs assist young people in building a bright future. The strategic plan of the organization is to develop a strong partnership with interested stakeholders in offering quality services. Similar to Blake and McCanse’s Leadership Grid and Hersey and Blanchard’s Situational Leadership Model, the human relation model is participatory in nature, where both the management team and employee participation in decision making (Boys and Girls Club).

Differences Between the Organizations

Department of Children and Family Services for National organization receive state funding, living independently forever Inc receives its funds from investors and retained profits while Boys and Girls Club get money from the government and private sponsors.
