The article analyzes the food security challenges caused by the Russia-Ukraine war. Food security is directly proportional to peace and stability, and the absence of peace in the said regions jeopardizes global food security. World food program (WFP) buys 50% of the grains from Ukraine, and the ongoing war lowers food productivity (Behnassi & El Haiba, 2022). Food output reduces when the farmers and their suppliers flee their workstations, and the war disrupts the food distribution networks. As a result of the decreased agricultural produce, the market experiences a shortage, and prices escalate. Practitioners have therefore developed key compliance measures to ensure that the agricultural industry and essential service providers are not interrupted as the war progresses. Although the battle is fought only in two countries, the impact on food security is felt worldwide. The article relates to class because human life depends on food, peace, and stability. Food insecurity jeopardizes nutritional needs, lowering the population’s quality of life.
The evidence provided by the author to prove the reliability of the article is the use of external sources to support the arguments presented in the report. The researcher uses twelve external sources to express the relationship between armed conflicts and food security. Working with different social and environmental organizations, such as Economic Social and Environmental Council (CESE) in Morocco, gave him the credibility to write an authentic article on the relationship between war and food security. Bias in research is eliminated when there is solid evidence to support the proposed claim. The statistics showing how food prices changed from low volatility in February 2021 to higher instability in February 2022 proved that the war led to a food shortage (Behnassi & El Haiba, 2022). Presentation of statistical evidence is therefore paramount in eliminating bias in research.
